Great place to chill out and get away from all the city 'madness'. Located just 45 min/1 hour drive away from the old town, the scenery you will find along the way will give you a taste of the thai countryside spirit. I really recommend...More
Nice place to get away from the city and chill. Good place for a group gathering hanging out by the river, swim if you want, and even camp sites available.
Although I have been living in Chiang Mai for 5 years, and have cycled to the ranger station several times, I only a few days ago went for the great hike into the gorge. I would not in my dreams have expected a scenery like...More
This is a beautiful swimming hole that is not full of tourists. As a matter of fact, I mostly see Thai nationals when we go here. The trails are nice and the canyon walls are beautiful here. It is a nice place for a picnic...More
Ob Khan national park is a bit off the beaten track but is worthwhile a visit during the dry season. It has a visitor centre and there are a couple of cirlcular walks taking in the river valley gorge and forest at sides. It's possible...More

Been here several times. There is a river and you can hire rubber rings to float around. Also some great nature walks and if you go in the first half of the year or so you will experience some awesome insect life!
Safe, large park for walks and winter swim in the clean river. Probably avoid the river in the rainy season ! Includes cafes and camping areas. No entry charge - they just note your vehicle registration number.
When the river is high (but not too high and strong) Ob Khan is a lovely place for swimming a little bit. There's a short trail, which is fun to explore - wear decent shoes. I go here pretty often, and love it!
