Very popular and often crowded on weekends. Ok for a stroll to watch the breakers crashing onto the beach. But the beach is so filthy and strewn with all kinds of rubbish that you wouldn’t want to sit and sunbathe !

As a Trivandrumite, I do miss Shanghumughom beach as it is no more open to people due to natural disasters on the beach. Kollam beach is a worthy alternative for this.. long walks, large parking space, spectacular view, lighthouse at the zenith of the view.....More

We did not venture into the water.. we just enjoyed the sea from a distance.. not like us usually.. but the waves were scarily strong for us to enter the sea..the beach is clean!

The beach is quite dirty sotry kovalam instead of kollam. As this beach is quite dirty and you also dnt have any activities to do here.

One of the beautiful and long beach in Kerala. Still there are no tourism activities, the beach is covered almost crowded in weekends.

Kollam beach is really good.It is well maintained.You can enjoy with large group,friends and family. You can park also.

No. There are no boat services from Kollam to Trivandrum as the backwaters are not continuous. There are no chartered boats that will take you through the sea. Hence the answer is no. But there are boat services from Kollam... More

If you like authentic South Indian dishes, do go to Prashanthi Hotel, which is a walking distance from the Kollam beach.Its a budget hotel, with a good restaurant. Rooms are fairly large.( being amidst the town, noise level... More
