    Lovely setting!
The weather and the number of visitors can be a tremendous influence as to how you perceive this location. The first time we made a visit here was several years ago and it was raining heavily with strong winds. In May we paid a second visit (while on a cruise) and it was sunny, beautiful, with comfortable temperatures. There were only two tourist buses while we were there (counting outs). The lighthouse is a photo op but no real visit inside can be made. The landscapes around the lighthouse are the real attraction. This time we had a memorable visit walking around the paths and enjoying the ambience of the fishing village. Do not miss the Fishermen's Monument. Fitting tribute!

    Spectacular Views
Beautiful day trip if you’re anywhere in the area and in the mood for exploring. I don’t love heights and was a bit intimidated by the rocks to climb up to the lighthouse but found it easy to traverse once I got underway. The views are well worth the effort it takes to get up there. If you can’t manage the rocks, the little village itself is colorful and beautiful. You’ll find several little stores selling local wares that dot the road along the way to the lighthouse and there are plenty of options for food.

    Awesome
Loved the whole place. The view is awesome. The walkways they put in make it very accessible. The little town is so quaint and great to walk around. The restaurant was very good, had the breakfast, reasonable as well. The gift shop is well stocked and great prices. Went back the next week because we loved it so muc.

Great stop if you are on a once in a lifetime visit to the Canadian Maritimes
First time in this area and on a Tauck tour that our bus made a stop here. It let us off close to the lighthouse and then we walked down past the parking area to board it. Great coastal scenery and perfect for photo shoots. This was on Saturday, June 17 and it seemed to be very busy with tourists and the parking lot was full when we walked back to the bus. We have a walking disability and did not walk out on the rocks, but you can if you want to

    Soak in the History
As Canadian as it gets. You get drawn in by the atmosphere of this famous ans quaint fishing village the moment you step out of the vehicle. We got the compulsary fog. As you walk up the fog just added to the erriness of hearing the bagpipes being played out on the outcrop of rocks. I rarely give a 5 start rating for anything, but just the facts that their are still 35 hearty souls that call this piece of heaven, home cinched it for me.

    Iconic lighthouse
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse is probably the most photographed lighthouse in Canada. It is not special in itself, but the coast on which is located is interesting. You can walk up to it and touch it. It is an active lighthouse, so you can't go in. Till 2009 there was a post office in the lower level where visitors could send postcards (each piece of mail received a special cancellation mark in the shape of the lighthouse). Unfortunately it has been closed in 2009 so you can't use this post office for sending postcards anymore.

The Quintessential Lighthouse Lives up to Expectations
This picturesque lighthouse lives up to its reputation. It was well worth detouring on our way to Halifax, even though it added an hour to our route. I was especially pleased that there is a viewing platform which is handicap accessible. I think those who are instrumental in getting this done. And the village itself is small and quaint with a few businesses. Near the lighthouse, there is a massive parking lot, including bus parking the visitor center is quite large with restrooms and of course, a gift shop. For those who like to walk among the rocks and gaze into the ocean, this is the place to be. There are warning signs as death has occurred on the rocks leading to the lighthouse. We were blessed to be there on a picture perfect sunny day and took numerous photos. People seemed so happy to be there and took photos of others. Be aware that this is a very popular place and it is likely others will stray into your photos.

    Gorgeous Scenery
I'm so glad we made the trip to see Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. It was worth it and it exceeded my expectations. We went on a weekday in early June so we didn't have any crowds. If you're in the Halifax area, I highly recommend visiting Peggy's Cove.

A very scenic place, not to be missed
We were on a day tour and spent four hours at Peggy's Cove itself. A lot of tours only give the guests one hour here but that really isn't enough time to explore the little village and small harbour area. The weather was amazing and the lighthouse looked stunning against the deep blue sky. Security are about on the rocks near the lighthouse as some people get too close to the edges of the rocks near the sea which is unsafe for them, there are signs up warning people of the dangers but we could hear the security blowing a whistle a lot to warn them to come away from the edge. The rocks do get very slippery in the wet weather too and it is very windy on times so wear layers. There are a few little local shops selling craft gifts and a few small cafe's and a larger main cafe with connecting gift shop. Restrooms are available within this larger gift shop/cafe as well as in another block opposite and another block down by the harbour. We tried the lobster rolls and ice creams here, they were very tasty.

Stunning setting for a lighthouse perched amongst giant rock formations along the sea.
The lighthouse is a must if traveling along the sea to or from Halifax. Beautiful coastal road meandering through quaint fishing villages. Picture perfect. The lighthouse stands regally amongst giant rocks that are smooth enough to walk along. Every photos is stunning. One could gaze out across the ocean for ever.

We went to Peggy's Cove as part of a cruise excursion combined with the hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Halifax. I am glad we did because walking over the rocks and exploring the views from all angles was a delight. We also walked into the village and had coffee and it was a charming, picturesque walk and experience. Kind of what you would expect from a spring day in Atlantic Canada. The only negative is the congestion at one area where on the day we went a man was playing bagpipes. While it added some to the ambience for some people, I suppose, everyone just crowded around this guy with cameras to the point of stopping the footpaths. Just be ready for that. Other than other tourists, this is a great experience.

Quaint little harbor with historic buildings and a lighthouse. I stopped by on a drizzly Sunday evening and no one was there. I had read Peggy’s Cove can be super crowded, so it was cool to have the place to myself, albeit cold and wet.

Peggy's cove lighthouse is a nice scenic place. Very rocky and cold the day we were there. Looks like it can be very busy at times but we did not have too many tourists.
We also went to the Whales Back Country store for ice cream, very inexpensive.

The road from Halifax was very winding and I believe a single lane. I believe it was under an hour drive. It was nice drive, but in May, most restaurants and shops were closed. It was interesting to see the little village and it was quite pretty. A few tiny stores and a larger souvenirs shop at restaurant. At the pewter store we watched a demonstration.

My husband and I went to this popular lighthouse while in Nova Scotia. It's about 40 minutes from Halifax with a scenic drive. Peggy's Cove is a beautiful lighthouse that sits on huge rocks. The Atlantic Ocean pounds the rocks, and signs do warn you that people have died. A viewing platform is available. A sidewalk also takes you directly to the lighthouse. Plenty of parking is available. It wasn't too busy at the end of April when we went.

Norwegian Cruise excursion to Peggy’s Cove. Though stormy on the tour bus to the Cove, weather cleared for our visit.

The lighthouse was beautiful and so worth our visit! A gentleman played an Altohorn (? Name) that was pleasant to hear with the waves splashing and wind blowing.

Gift shop was nice but very busy with long line to check out.

Absolutely beautiful spot by the ocean. While the lighthouse is iconic, the view and rocks steal the show for me. Be prepared for loads of people in the summer. In the winter, it's chiller but way less people. A must in Nova Scotia
