Peggy's Cove far surpassed my expectations...it was so beautiful. While there were a lot of people there it did not seem overly crowded. I was able to stop in one of the quaint shops and found a fabulous, unique ring for a very reasonable price....More

I have been here on very cold days and very windy days, but last week my 4th visit was on a warm sunny day with not too much wind and it was perfect for viewing the Lighthouse. (It is also always fun to watch the...More

Drove the lighthouse trail on the way from Halifax to a hotel on the south shore. We simply could not believe the numbers of cars and buses. We got as far as the Peggy's Cove Information Centre and gave up due to the number of...More

This was our 3rd time to visit, and each time we come away equally impressed. Skip the fanfare during the day, arrive around 7 pm so that you can enjoy a bit of daylight and the sunset. Make sure to walk around also, as the...More

It was beautiful but too crowded. At the time we visited buses from cruise ships in Halifax brought busloads of tourists. Try to visit off season.

A must see when visiting Halifax, not because the lighthouse is so spectacular, but because there is not so much more to do around Halifax. The place is overcrowded with too little parking places, so people park everywhere. Combine this visit with the Swissair Memorial.

This place definitely requires several hours of exploring to take in all the sights, shops and food!

We arrived around 5:30 pm as the tour buses left - which meant that there were only 50-100 people clambering around the rocks. This made for a more relaxed experience and some beautiful photos. However the tiny village shuts down entirely at 5 pm (or...More

I frankly would not miss it but one always has the chance of fog or rain even if the weather is nice in Halifax.
