Best advice for this location...wear trainwrs. The beach feels like you are walking on glass🙄.But worth it to see the colour of the sea alone.

Photos of Navagio beach are replicated so much that to come to Zakynthos and not get on it meant to acquire an unclosed gestalt for the rest of your life. The only problem is that the beach is in the northwest of the island, and the capital of the island, where we arrived by ferry, is in the southwest. And there are 80 kilometers between them. And in the evening of the next day we had to leave. It seemed, what is easier? Public transport? It is not very developed in Greece, and even less so in Zakynthos. From the city of Zakynthos to the village of Anafonitria nearest to the beach, a bus runs several times a week, where you can arrive in the middle of the day, but not return, because the beach is located at a distance of 5 km from the village. I didn't have a driver's license at that time, and I didn't want to pay 150 euros for a taxi. It remained to repeat the feat of Phidippides, who ran 42 kilometers between Marathon and Athens to announce the joyful news of the victory of Miltiades' troops over the Persians. Repeat twice. Of course, I am a relatively prepared person, I have skied the 50-kilometer marathon of the Festival of the North 11 times in Murmansk. But 42 kilometers on the highway in summer is much more difficult than 50 kilometers on skis in spring. I was hoping for a hitchhiking, of course. Leaving at half past three in the morning from the suburbs of Zakynthos I reached Navagio beach at half past nine . Partly by car (for free and for money), partly by walking. This is the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of the bay. there are no buses with tourists at the top and no water excursions at the bottom yet. You can get a photo like on a postcard. The way back was more difficult, because it was necessary to go through the heat. Hitchhiking almost didn't work. Only locals can let you down. Tourists in rented cars flew by. Probably because they don't see themselves in the pedestrian's place. Although anything can happen... On the north-south highway, I caught a taxi, which I was incredibly happy about. At the end of the day, I looked at my Huawei pedometer: 42 kilometers (66 thousand steps) and about 38 kilometers (according to the map) by car. I repeated the feat of Phidippides. However, unlike the ancient Greek hero, I did not run and did not fight and remained alive..

What you see is what you get, great boat ride on a pirate ship ,diving off and going for a swim before you anchor at the bay with the shipwreck, once the ship anchored at the bay you need either Wellington boots or hiking boots,as the stones on the shore you cannot walk on,slidders or thongs are ain't worth wearing,no place to settle not unless you sit on the rusty shipwreck, which you can't as your not allowed

The scenery is fantastic, but as a very popular tourist viewing spot, can be horrendous queues to the viewing platform.
The view from the top of the cliff edge via the very small viewing platform is stunning. Colours you won’t believe exist.
But the key issue is the size of the platform allowing one couple at a time without any organisation managing the viewing. Meaning if some just stands there for 5 minutes (selfie’s, video, and pics via two devices or more) and you’re in a queue with a dozen or more ahead of you, imaging how the tension and frustration builds without any controls. When a coach pulls in it’s just a nightmare!
So be patient if you insist on wanting to soak up the view, it is magical. Potentially best bet is early morning before 10.30, or avoid peak summer period late June to mid Sept. If it’s busy you could be queuing for a while in high temperatures.
Tip, have a person in your family get in queue soonest and allow others to wander around the location to see other points of interest and the trader stalls, then join together when you get close moving on to view point.

This is one of the places I think anyone should visit in its life.. We have been here in Septembere and was not so crowded, so perfect time to see one of the most beautiful beaches and sea in Europe. Moreover there is a ship wreck which make this place unique.
