About
While Sardinia doesn't lack Nuraghi to visit, the Nuraghi Majori is extra special because it would certainly appeal to couples with young children. There's a small entrance fee. Brochures are supplied in multiple languages. Visitors are given a large flashlight in order to see the interior. It doesn't take long to visit the two-story stone structure. The view up top is a great photo op. Children will adore the fact that there are bats in the largest room. While it's discouraged to shine the flashlight on them, it's a great way to see these cute, tiny creatures in the wild (and to get a whiff of bat guano). There's a small, cute gift shop and clean mens and ladies toilets. The road to this nuraghi isn't paved (potholes galore) but it's not far from the main mountain road of Tempio Pausania.

Very old, quite small and some bats
Jul 2019 • Family
The place is described as great for families with small children. In our case the whole experience lasted below 15 minutes. The key attraction for children is watching bats. But due to light sensitivity of the animals it is a one-minute thing. The ruins and the garden were not exciting to kids. Putting children aside the culture and its buildings are interesting. But this is not the biggest or the most interesting object. There are leaflets in many languages. They are useful and interesting. There is a live guide in Italian. If you are nearby you can drop by but not necessarily the main destination. Unless you are crazy about Nuraghe.

Remnants of a lost civilisation

Amazing prehistoric ruins in attractive countryside setting. Not much is known about the nuraghe civilisation. So just admire how people could build with such huge stones, and guess what the tower was used for.

A nuraghe . . . plus bats!

Just outside of Tempio on the road to Capo Testa, is this small nuraghe. Inside, there is a colony of bats, which really makes this nuraghe feel like part of the landscape and not a tourist attraction.

Quick but interesting visit

I would recommand this place to anyone interested in archeology or sardinian history. If you get to know nuraghi's culture you will enjoy this really old structure. Also there is a bat colony living there, really cute and interesting.

What a place to visit!
Jun 2018 • Couples
We did not intend to visit another nuraghe but spontaneously followed the signs and what we found was a great restaurant located next to it, an inviting path towards it with wellkept plants, lights, stones and after paying a small amount entered it, had a great view on the first floor and with a given torch could see the pipistrelli (bats) on the ceiling.

One of the better Nuraghi

Said to be at least 3000 years old and in the middle of the cork plantation but partial collapsed it is well worth the fee on entry

Easy to find on the road out of Tempio this tiny historical site is definitely worth the €3 fee and the short walk from the car park.

Still accessible after thousands of years
Sep 2017 • Couples
We had our lunch in the nearby restaurant and reached the Nuraghi from the garden. It is only a partial Nuraghi as the top half has collapsed. What is there gives you an idea of what the civilization lived in. The rooms are dark, the guide provides lighting. Be careful as the floors are very uneven. For the best Nuraghi you need to visit the one at Santu Antine at Torralba which is almost complete.
