During those years, Samos was almost undiscovered. All that magic has apparently gone. There was nothing on the beaches near Kokkari but a few bathers and the sea-pebbled stones. Oh, and weird ants with very long legs. The short war with Turkey over Cyprus meant...More

Kokkari did not grab me like I thought it would. I much prefer Pythagorion but this is obviously a very personal choice. I found Kokkari to be a bit over touristed and the beach is at the windy side/end of the island, so I did...More

Kokkari has to be the best kept secret in Samos, if not the Greek Islands. A beautiful protected harbour with an array of five star restaurants to cater for everyone's budget. Local grocery shop, same price as the bigger ones in the city centre with...More

This Beach is on the windier side but was ver my pretty and pleasant. The drop is a little steeper and water not as calm as the southern beaches so not as great for young kids swimming. We also went late September so it was...More

Very nice beach. A lot of people but it's not a noisy place. The town and the small port are beautiful!

Kokkari was my favourite place in Samos. It has a lovely 'feel' and although it has a good selection of cafes and tavernas the whole place does not feel commercialised at all. Surrounded by wonderful flowers growing from balconies throughout this pretty town the beach,...More

The obvious thing to note is this is a pebbled beach, so those wanting sand, you'll need to look elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants and tavernas that offer "free" sunbeams in front of their establishments. With the quality of the food where we frequented...More

Kokkari village is a must when you're on Samos island. The village is beautiful and from the main road with all the restaurants you have a great view on the sea. Like most beaches in Greece, there's no sand but stones instead.
