One of the most exciting geomorphological structures of Lut is the special bumps called Kalut which is the biggest natural clod structure in the world; they are the most unique structures in the desert. Kalouts are similar to parallel tunnels which are positioned from northwest to northeast. Kaloots are 80 km in width, 145 km in length, and in some cases 120 meters high

Probably our best experience in Iran! We spent - together with our 9 y.o. daughter - two days/one night in the extraordinary Kalouts desert last April. Our stay was just perfect thanks to Amir, our excellent and very professional guide (amir.kaluts@gmail.com – WhatsApp 00989131982482), who...More

The shapes, the colours, the vast harshness of the formations were extraordinary. The drivers were highly experienced but this didn’t mean there weren’t heart-stopping moments as we crested steep Sandhills a d plunged down the other side.

I went to the kaluts and spent two hours wandering around, seeing the shadows grow longer and longer. The place became enchanting. Really worth a visit if you are in Kerman. Nearby are the ‘egg hills’ and a salt river, also worth checking out.

An incredibly beautiful and lovely place Be sure to be there before noon and use Safari. You should go from Kerman to Shahdad and from there go to the town of Klutha. There is a desert camp where you can rest.
