During my visit in Kolhapur I visited the Shahuji Chhattapati museum. I didn’t enter the museum since I got a wrong ticket. However the building was worth seeing.

Go there when you have a little free time to see some history. They'll show you a lot about the crazy life rich people had back then!

This is called as New Palace and It is now the best museum in Kolhapur which showcases great collection of possessions of Chhatrapatis of Kolhapur like costumes, weapons, games, jewellery, embroidery etc. Generally you should have 2-3 hours in your hand to see this museum....More

This is called the New Palace as it is where the Royal family lived. Lots of interesting things in the museum although a few more labels would be great as we didn't know what some things were

Its a must to visit this museum in case you want to understand Maharashtra culture during Chatrapati Shahu time. It has lots of old artifact. They have also kept stuffed real animals & preserved those very well.

Please visit this Palace and experience the lifestyle of Sahu Maharaj , his collections. The palace inside is bit dusty you may want to cover your nose if you have dust allergy. But overall the architecture is quiet good
