Reminds the lion king. Panoramic view. Would be a great place to picnic apéro, at sundown or a breaky at sunrise. But alcool is forbidden as it is not dangerous to climb it no proper steps. Some local paintings that worth a look. It is very relaxing place to let your eyes travel so far away. Unfortunately it could be... More

We were here in September 2016 just before a thunderstorm hit - we had times to look a the rock art before heading up to the vantage point. If that looks familiar, it's because it was in Crocodile Dundee.

We did the Guluyambi Wet Season Tour & Cruise which only runs when Magela Creek is flooded. So picked up from our hotel, bus to the creek, boat cruise through the wetlands and flooded creek then onto Ubirr rock painting site. It was fantasic, we were the only group at Ubirr. Well worth the visit!

This site is a must visit. Apart from the excellent rock art the climb to the top of the ridge provides amazing views over Kakadu. The climb is not too difficult except for those with incapacities. I could have stayed longer just to take in the beautiful scenery and expansive views.

A verdant green outlook from this area across the wetlands -stunning. The rock art was explained well and we fortunately had the area to ourselves almost as the rain had cut a few roads.

There isn't anything I can say that will prepare you for the sheer beauty of this area and delight at being able to stand so close to spectacular ancient rock paintings. Our guide Ryan was clearly passionate about this country and its first peoples he was good fun, a great guide but at the same time had strong feelings about... More

We learned of this tour from someone at the Aurora gas stop before entering Kakadu NP. Signed up for it upon checking into our lodge in Cooinda. Since the road to Ubirr was under water, we also experienced a boat trip through the billabong to get back on the road. That boat trip was wonderful with an aboriginal guide explaining... More
