An afternoon visiting Andechs for the monastery and the views is definitely a wonderful activity. Enjoying a beer or two along with supper at Andechs will just round out an already fun experience. This is Bavaria at its best. The "beer hall" is lively and...More

Monastery beer on a high hill overlooking German fields and country homes. An idyllic place to rest, relax and explore what Bavaria is all about. Brush up on your German before ordering food or beer here; while it's a tourist spot, it is quintessentially German.

A must visit! Great food and greater beer in a great venue. We’ve been a number of times and this is great all year round. In the winter it’s warm and romantic and in the summer there’s beer gardens and music. The views are great...More

As a brewer, I have made many visits to this area with friends and family when visiting Bavaria. The history, food and beverages coming out of Andechs is superior in every way to anything we have back home in Australia. Highly recommend an English tour...More

Easy to come here from Munich (S-bahn and bus). Here is beautiful church and great views. We found little shop and brewery. In the beer house I enjoy pint of dobbelbock beer, which was good. There is also beergarden and gasthaus.

We visited Andechs Monastery on a rainy day in late August, 2017. We got there early just before noon, so we were able to wander around and get pictures without people in the background. The tower was closed, but we still got some spectacular views...More

This place comes highly recommended due to its' signature dish and excellent beer. The main curse is rediculessly huge, but tasty. Choose the sauerkraut and stay away from the potato salad, the latter in serious need of an upgrade from the tin it is coming...More

The Andechs monastery is brewing its own beer, this a special winter beer. The monastery is situated on a hill - you can go there by feet - and you have nice view in a romatic landscape from there. In the summer time there is...More

Some friends that we have met in Garmisch told us that it is worthwhile to visit this Monastery. Truly this Abbey lies on a hill south of Munich and it is very famous for its Baroque church but mainly for its brewery. That is why...More
