Gurudev and shantiniketan..the combination is best described in chatimtala. The ideology of Rabindrantha can be experinced once you vist Chatimtala.

This is the place where kavi guru Rabindranath's father devarshi Debendranath Tagore used to meditate.The place is under the tree called Chhatim,as the name suggests.The place is beautiful and tranquil..Making ambience for prayer.

A guided tour to this place would be highly recommended... As there is a lot of history to this place than the text books hv mentioned... On tagore's father acquired the land and later rabi tagore converted to one of the biggest institution promoting culture...More

Very peaceful place. Ravindranath Tagore used to teach his students at this place; which was very close to nature. This is one of the famous tourist spot in Shantiniketan.

This place you need to see from distances. This is the place where Rabindranath used to meditated daily.

There is this area in the campus where the Poet Rabindranath Tagore or Robi Thakur as we say in Bangla, loved to sit and medidate. His students would also avail this spot under the Chatim tree hence 'Chatimtala'.
