While in Santiniketan, do make it a point to explore the Visva Bharati University complex - Mandir, Chhatimtala, the great Banyan tree, Kalabhawan etc. It will leave a different feeling altogether.

Exciting place to visit at weekends. History kept very mindfully. Place to be loved by people for all ages. Saturday haat at Sonajhuri lovely to see, river Kopai also reminds of the source of poem by Kabiguru "Our little river flows in graceful loops....."

Must visit place of every Bengali.Saturday is the best day to visit Viswa bharati as because you can also visit khoyai hat.

Near my home. Lovely place and concept to meet nature with student. Lovely place to visit to understand rural Bengal. Lot of place to stay, to eat. to roam around.

Though Santiniketan (and Visva Bharati) lost its old charm, you should pay a visit there if you have never done that. Avoid peek tourist times like Poush Mela and Basanta Utsav (Dol) as the place gets too much crowded at these times. And remember, the...More

This is one of the most premier institute for study of Arts. This place is full of memories of the famous Rabindra Nath Tagore and several other famous artists. Must visit when in Santiniketan.

Wonderful place except the ticketing arrangement. Long que before you enter and very slow moving. That is the only irritating part of the tour. The Museum and the houses where Gurudev used to stay is just amazing.

Visiting hours are Winter: 14:00-16:30. Summer: 14:30-17:30. During vacations: 07:30-11:00.

I think there is no facility to have an official guide from Viswa- Bharti, but there are plenty of private guide whom you will found near entrance. Charges must be negotiated accordingly.
