I had a great stay here. Spent a day picnic here with relatives.
Then my husband and I stayed for two nights on our own. There are a couple small cottages available for rent.

I heard about this place through my relatives who are from the town of Salvacion and they connected us with the owner/caretaker and made the arrangements. If you're planning to visit, you should contact them first in case there are other events or people visiting. You'll have an even better experience if you plan ahead.

If you're planning a visit, bring enough fresh water for drinking and rinsing. If you're expecting 5-star luxury accomodations then this place is not for you. Go somewhere else and don't bother to step foot on this beautiful island. This place is for those who are adventurous, open minded and have a respect and love for nature. If you have at least 2 of those personal qualities then you will leave this place feeling blessed!

The fee we paid to visit/stay on the island was worth it. It goes towards the preservation and care of this island and those who look after it. I read a review of someone complaining about the fee. I had no problems with what I paid. I knew what I was getting myself into because I asked questions and communicated. No surprises.

They have a generator for power which goes off at some point in the middle of the night. There's no a/c in the room but there was an electric fan. We didn't need a/c or the fan since the weather was perfect for us. It actually got a little cool at night. We were there in January, when it's less hot and humid.

My husband and I had a memorable time here enjoying the beach, snorkeling, swimming, and simply relaxing. It was truly paradise.

My first and primary language is English. I read a review complaining about language barrier? Nonsense! Christian was our primary contact there and he spoke english perfectly! No language barrier at all.

An unexpected bonus was becoming friends with Christian the co-owner/caretaker and his friends/family that were there to help him look after the island. We were invited to join them in the evening for some drinks and music. There was no pressure at all to join them. My husband and I being social and curious decided it would be nice to hang out with them for awhile. We had a great time. We exchanged stories, learned about some of their adventures, received recommendations of things to do, ocean life, and the filipino culture... and the most hilarious moment was watching my husband learn "budots" and seeing four other grown men dancing with him in the living room space, coffee table moved aside. Budots is a dance move popular in that part of the Philippines around that time. Search budots and you'll understand why this would be hilarioius. The friendships we made were a pleasant and unexpected blessing.

We left North Cay truly blessed! I will definitely return!

We went to North Cay on one of our island hopping expeditions. We were on a good-sized boat and it probably took 45 minutes or so to get there from Al Faro hotel on Busuanga. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been. My husband, son, and I were the only ones there. The island has a caretaker, facilities (although bucket-flush), chairs, grills, and picnic tables. We brought are own stuff to cook on a wood fire. We walked around the small island. which had great shells and coral. The water and scenery were glorious. I would highly recommend a visit here.

We reached North Cay in 45 minutes against the current from Coral Bay Resort, Potpotan Island. Using a speedboat from Concepcion Wharf on Busuanga Island, North Cay might only be a 15 - 20 minute trip.

A P200 per person entrance fee applies.

There were four workmen repairing the main small building. There were four banana lounges available, nicely shaded, with a rotunda that had good covered seating and some other seats.

The beaches are pure white sand. I snorkelled three times in different spots: the variety of tropical fish was very good. I was warned about a strong current but found it easy in which to snorkel. The reef began five metres offshore. There were rocks at one end.

On the other side, the equally stunning beach had rock pools.

We brought an esky and enjoyed a cold beer and soft drink. There was a clean toilet attached to the building.

This was a great way to spend a few hours but be sure to slap on the sunscreen.

This is also close to the new Huma Island Resort on what was previously Horse Island. That resort is being repaired following Typhoon Yolanda damage, but is trading.

We hired a private boat to go to North Cay for our 1st anniversary. The ride was over 6 hours from Coron Town to North Cay, but we stopped at Lusong Gunboat and Lusong Coral Garden for snorkeling and diving. so I would say, maybe 4 hours from Coron Town to North Cay island without stopping. We got there at 3pm and they told us there was no room until 6pm when a group of people check out. So hubby and I went snorkeling near the island, then we rested on the chairs on the beach, and waited for about 2 hours before we could check in. The cottage has three rooms connected together. only one room has the bathroom. Since there were nobody else sharing the cottage, they told us we could choose any room we wanted. We chose the one with the bathroom. there is no air conditioning or hot shower. we had a fan in the room. they cut off the electricity at 1am. It was hot at night. We knew about that so we were ok with the black out and heat, because it's a small island we understand. What we didn't understand was, in the morning when we were about to check out, they charged us 1000 php per person, instead of 700 php as we were told before. So i asked the guy, since when you changed the price?? apparently he doesn't speak a lot of English, he just said, "this is the price. 2000 pesos for 2 persons". We didn't want to argue with him and ruined our vacation (it's our anniversary that day), so i paid 2000 pesos for a night stay on North Cay without electricity or any basic stuff in the cottage. No towels, no toiletry or any basic hospitality. I don't recommend this place to anybody.

I am most sorry for your stay back in 2014 and how disappointing it must have been. since 2015 i have taken over the business and made major changes. Checkout times are before mid-day the next morning, this would not hinder new visitors coming for their stay the following evening. Unfortunately air-conditioning is not currently available however electricity has been extended 6pm to 6am, allowing fans to be on all night through nights of hot weather. I apologise for the language barrier you experienced, we have new caretakers monitoring the island 24/7 including myself (first language English) on most days so guests can feel comfortable knowing good English speakers are available at all times to help our guests. Toiletries and towels have been implemented since my takeover as management and this problem should not occur again i only wished i could have helped on this occasion. I do hope the remaining of your holiday was not too much affected and that you still had a great time in the Philippines. Thankyou for your valuable comment.

We came to North Cay from Calauit and decided to do a lunch stop in this island. it seems the facilities were damaged from the typhoon but the place is still a great spot for a day trip or a short stay. We paid 200 pesos each and this included a hut to hide from the hot sun at noon. There are great snorkelling area in front of the island. Nice Stop!

Loved this small island. White sand, tons of coral and plenty of fishes! When I visited, I was the only visitor so I had the island to myself. Had a relaxing time and the view of the sea from the island is phenomenal. There is cell signal too thanks to the cell towers on the other islands.

True Robinson Crusoe experience.

We where the only 2 people on the island when we were there. The boat crew prepared the fish and other foods we brought. It was amazing. You can walk around the entire island in less than 10 mins.

We rented a private boat to go there, recommended!

Our own tiny island paradise for two days - well away from the hustle n bustle with all required basic amenities - great staff - surrounded by sensational snorkeling and island hoping opportunities.

A little bit rocky which I don't recommend swimming without aquashoes. But it's wide stretch and the view of the ocean is good.

I like this beach as it is quiet, serene and not crowded. Clear water and white sand. Very beautiful indeed.
