I really don’t think that there’s anything better that I could’ve done during my time in the Palawan. The staff was perfect – funny, friendly, honest, and attentive. They were constantly making sure that everyone was safe and feeling good. They really take care of you there. The tour guides are so knowledgeable about the places that you visit, and they speak English quite well. The people that were in my group were great, too! My group felt like one big, happy family.

I saw some unbelievable marine organisms while snorkeling; I felt like I was in a scene of “Finding Nemo.” I even saw a little bit of bioluminescence when on the beach of Banana Island! Also, the colors of the seawaters are TO DIE FOR - sometimes emerald green, sometimes three beautiful shades of blue. Unbelievable.

Side note: the housing, toilets, and showers are quite basic; nothing is especially fancy and they don’t have unlimited freshwater, so please be flexible. Shoutout to the housing facilities for providing a towel because I forgot to bring one.

You’ll be swimming in seawater for 4 days, but you won’t be able to properly wash your hair at all. The best you’ll be able to do during the trip is rinse your hair with a bucket of freshwater that’s on the boat. Hopefully, your scalp won’t get too itchy. You also won’t be able to take a shower with very hot water. Lastly, depending on the time of year that you go, you may get stung by tiny plankton that are in the water. My entire group was stung by the little guys (we went in early November). According to my Google search, they’re called sea lice. The tiny stings hurt a little bit, but they’re not dangerous at all. Just rinse your body and swimsuit with freshwater once you get out of the ocean, and you should be fine. You may get a rash, and in that case, hydrocortisone cream and anti-histamines can provide significant relief. Bring some if you can. Bring sunscreen, too.

The cost of the trip may sound expensive upfront, but it is worth every penny; they transport you to the most beautiful, secluded islands, provide housing at the end of each day, they cook you delicious traditional Filipino meals, and provide unlimited alcohol. It would be much more difficult and expensive if you were to try to do all that on your own, especially if you’re a foreigner who doesn’t know the area (like myself). Plus, when you go on this trip, you support a local business. Wins all around. This trip is four days of absolute paradise. 10/10.

Fantastic customer service from start to finish with the BDBM trip. Charm was extremely responsive and helpful with any questions I had before the trip - something not experienced with bigger tour operators. Whilst travelling to the Philippines I had severe disruption to my flights, meaning I had to join the tour a day late. Charm was very organised and accommodating here, and Darwin somehow organised a 2h boat for me to re-join the boat where it was docked. I was met from my hotel by Darwin to be taken back to the main boat.

The crew on the boat were very friendly and provided great service at all times - with drinks and an abundance of fresh and tasty food (from the chef Renald) all included.

The trip was well organised by Darwin and the crew - who planned going to the sites at times which wouldn’t be as busy with tourists.

Beautiful sights along the trip, and a great experience.

Wow wow wow
This is one of the best trips I have ever been on.
4 days of complete paradise. We visited some truly stunning beaches, coves and coral reefs. The best bit was that there were no other tourists there!!
The crew were amazing
The food from Chef Ray was really tasty
Big shout out to Aldrin one of the guides. He was so knowledgeable about the places that we visited, the culture, geology, marine life etc and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time.
The whole team were fantastic though including Bob and Nat. Without them the trip would not have been so amazing.
Thank you!!

I went on the Big Dream Boat Man expedition on the boat of from Coron to El Nido at last week. It was simply one of the best travel experiences I have had. It is 5 days of sailing and staying in remote islands - if you want an authentic experience of Palawan, this is the trip to take. We had the islands all to ourselves and it was simply breathtaking. The expedition captain Gilbert, and the crew TOTO , GING GING , JERSON; guide of the expedition DARWIN ,GINEL and AMBO just outdid themselves in making sure you had the best experience, that you were safe and that you had the most fun you could possibly have. And of course CHEF RENALD is not only the best for foods that he prepared for everyone's taste, he is also good for dancing :).And ISMAEL was helpful for everything in the kitchen. No request was ever turned down - even swimming back to the boat at night so someone could get another bottle of rum. Everything was done with a smile and there was a genuine rapport between the crew and the guests. - we had fresh seafood ( from crabs to different kinds of fish) and vegetables and afternoon snacks (ranging from caramelised banana to sweet potato fries). The islands are breathtaking and we snorkeled and swam (all under the watchful eye of the crew). Each night was at a different base camp - each having their own charm. This is not for people who expect 5 star amenities or want to stick to a schedule. You stay in camps with either no electricity or very little and basic toilet facilities. While your end destination is clear, plans can change any time (due to weather, current etc). But these are minor things compared to what you get from the experience in return. I went with my husband and 2 friends and met the most fantastic and diverse group of people - I am so glad I did it and fully intend to do it again. Every expedition is different and you get as much out of it as you bring. The crew knows what they are doing - everything is organised to the last detail and you really walk away feeling that you have seen a side of Palawan and its people that most tourists don't get to see. Truly unforgettable.

The crew are sincerely committed to ensuring everything about our stay in their country was enjoyable! Big hearts in every one of our Philippine friends, so excited to share their country with us, and extremely proud we had decided to vacation in their country. The food was great and plenty! The places they took us for snorkeling were fun. The choices of island visits and stays were good.

The staff was incredibly attentive and fun, danced with us, taught us card tricks and taught us games, shared their inspiring stories, and were always professional. Chef Ray and his assistant chef worked so hard and prepared beautiful delicious meals every time. Our guide was leading for the first time and shared his story of having been very shy as a child and his choosing to take on this new challenge in leadership because he wanted to be brave and gain confidence. He was excellent, and endearing. There are not high end creature comforts, so plan on flexibility in terms of toilets, showers and hot not-enough-breeze sleeping. However it was typically more comfortable than I had expected, and the staff work so hard to anticipate your needs. Wonderful interactions with our fellow travelers and a surprise meeting of Chris, the owner, who is the most friendly warm hearted guy. It made me happy to be supporting his business.

After reading the raving reviews on here we decided to book this island hopping trip. We sailed from Coron to El Nido.

We had an amazing time with a great crew. The crew makes sure that all the guests are having a good time and visit all the best spots around.

Best thing yet on our holiday in the Philippines!

Special thanks to Darwin and Ginel for teaching me the basics of freediving.
