The Chapel of Santa Maria ta’ Bir Miftuh, located in Gudja, is one of the best preserved examples of a medieval parish church. It has some interesting frescoes and provides the ideal setting for the annual Bir Miftuh music festival organised each spring by Din l-Art Helwa.

First mentioned in the 15th century the church is said to exist way before that. It has a lot of history with periods when it was abandoned and restored again and again. It has a 3 bell tower and nice 16th century frescoes.
