This is a gem, nestled in Whiteness, Shetland, we have visited many times and each time brings the same pleasure. On a sunny day we sit outside and look out over the hills and wildflowers, while the friendly staff bring the home-bakes. Traditional and affordable. We visit from time to time and are not always bowled over by the gallery exhibits but the Shetlandmade series have been good, but we always enjoy the cafe with very high quality food and really good coffee and cakes.

Fine cafe food and good service. The art and artisan displays were of very high quality and quite varied.

Inside there is a small shop of crafts and related items, and then upstairs an ever changing exhibition of high end goods by local craftspeople. This is more like a high class London gallery and seems out of place in Shetland. More pictures for sale adorn the café. Whilst is appears in all the tourist literature, if you were oblivious to this, it's on a minor back road not in an obvious location, not well signposted and could easily be missed, which would be a shame.…
