This is certainly worth the effort to get here and it is an effort. There were times I thought I was turning into someones driveway and trusted google maps to help me find my way. The grounds were extremely peaceful and it was a meditative...More

If you choose to drive up, beware the very narrow road (one lane only). There is public parking at the foot of the summit but there is also space for a few cars at the top if you come here off-season. The main Church is...More

We caught the train to Domodossola from Stresa and found it to be a charming town. The visit to the Sacro Monte was well worth the effort of the climb up the hill - really impressive work with excellent views.
