Excellent service for a truly amazing once in a life time experience. From start to finish a massive thankyou to Sarah, Amin, and of course the well prepared and experienced guides Baba and Henry that put so much effort in ensuring we got as much out of our trip as possible. They had great pride in making us happy and we left in awe over we had seen ans savoured.

I landed in Medan 7pm without a plan. I was expecting a little more from the airport in regards to tour information or any information at all. I was disappointed. All information booths were closed.
I got to my hotel and was so happy. When I reached out to Orangutan Trekking, Sarah was nearly immediate at responding.
She had me booked to go trekking and even arranged travel from my hotel to Bukit Lawang in under 30 minutes. She was so pleasant and easy to talk to that she really put my mind at ease.
Arriving at the Jungle Villa that her and Amin own, my expectations were totally blown out of the water. It was affordable, clean, and comfortable. Sarah and Amin were a complete pleasure to be around. I could not have asked for better. Very close to local delicious restaurants and 30 seconds from the river where you could swim or as I did, look for cool rocks.
The following morning I started my 2 day 1 night trekk into the Jungle. My guide was Dedi, who was so knowledgeable and friendly. He took every opportunity to stop and teach us things about the local Jungle. Including different trees used for medicine and any animals that we came across.( which was alot)
His English was wonderful.
We managed to see 7 Orangutans(including a baby), a wild peacock and all 5 local monkey species.
The night by the river was nothing less then absolutely amazing. There is just something special about falling asleep hearing the river babbling and knowing you're in the middle of a Jungle. How many people can say they've done that?!
The fresh food was amazing. Dedi's assistant and the chef were both very friendly and happy to be there.
The second day we continued the hike and then rafted down the last leg of the journey. To say it was amazing would be an understatement. From the moment I landed in Bukit Lawang I knew it wasnt going to be my last time.
I am already planning my next trip, with a longer more intense hike. Now that I know and trust that I am in good hands I most definitely will be here again.
I cannot recommend this company enough, if you have any doubts please put them aside and trust what I am telling you, you will not regret it.

Had 3 days break over Chinese New year and heard to Bukit Lawang after finding Sarah and Orangutan Trekking months ago. The trekking was fantastic after first night in the Orangutan Hotel in beautiful Bukit Lawang. I walked with guide Erul who was very informative - saw orangutans in the wild plus macaws, monkeys, peacock and others and heard hornbills but not see. The jungle is amazing. After hiking for about 8 hours (with food/rest stops) we arrived at the river campsite after a slippery descent for a swim in crystal lear water and gourmet dinner cooked by Ujung. It had been raining so the river was flowing rapidly and provided a soothing background to a night in the jungle.
The next day Ujung and Erul assembled the 3-tyre rubber raft for the exciting rafting down the river back to Bukit Lawang. Ujung had carried the tires along the river from the town.
Then morning by the river was amazing with monkeys hopping around then trees on the far side and a monitor lizard fishing and lazing on the rocks.
All in. all a wonderful experience and I'd love to do it again for longer. CMcD

If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, look no further than Orangutan Trekking! Our 2-day trek with Amin (our guide) was amazing. My friend and I wanted to experience the beauty of the rainforest and see some of its incredible wildlife up close. And we did!! Amin's knowledge of the area and its wildlife was incredible. He taught us so much about the orangutans and gibbons we encountered, as well as the hornbills we heard in the distance. We were in awe of his ability to spot animals that we never would have noticed on our own. He was also incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the trek.
The overnight experience was truly one-of-a-kind. Falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle was a dream come true, and waking up to those same sounds was an experience we will never forget. It was surreal to be surrounded by such natural beauty and to feel so connected to the environment around us! Not only was the Orangutan Trekking experience amazing, but we also appreciated how the company is eco-friendly and cares deeply about preserving the environment around them, ensuring that future generations can also enjoy the beauty of this unique ecosystem. We couldn't recommend Orangutan Trekking, Amin and his team enough. If you're looking for an adventure that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime, this is the experience for you!

My partner, our one-year-old daughter, and I recently went on a half-day trek with Orangutan Trekking and it was a truly unforgettable experience. We weren't sure what to expect with a little one in tow, but our guide was incredibly accommodating and made sure we were all comfortable and safe throughout the trek. In fact, our guide went above and beyond - when we were getting tired, he even offered to carry our baby for a while so we could rest. We were blown away by his kindness and thoughtfulness.
The trek itself was beautiful and filled with incredible wildlife. We saw 2 mum orangutans with their babies, and the coolest monkey called Thomas Leaf! We stopped about halfway to rest and the team whipped up a delicious fruit display in the middle of the jungle. It was such a special touch, and it really made us feel like we were experiencing something unique. Andra was knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the orangutans and the jungle, and he made sure we all learned a lot about the ecosystem and its inhabitants. And the scenery was just breathtaking - it's hard to put into words how stunning it was. THANK YOU! Highly recommend this team especially if you have a little one with you. They really went above and beyond to make our trek special, and we'll always remember the kindness and generosity of our guides.

I did a two day trek with Orangutan Trekking and I have to say it was the most incredible experience of my life! My guides, Amin and Andra are experts at what they do and I felt very safe in their hands. They listened and read the signs of where the orangutans were and as a result of this I managed to see 8 orangutans! Mothers with babies, a male, and even a male and female cuddling in a tree!! There are no words to describe the feeling of witnessing that! We camped overnight by a stream and I showered in a waterfall!! Madi, the cook had hiked up from the village to produce the most amazing dinner after which the three guys sang songs adding to the atmosphere. The following morning Amin asked me to walk down the middle of the stream with him and wait. Suddenly Thomas Leaf monkeys were leaping over our heads from one side of the canopy to the other! Amazing! This experience is another testament to how experienced and knowledgeable the orangutan trekking guides are because they know their jungle and read the signs to give you the best possible experience. And they care that you do! The fun didn’t stop there though! We walked down to the river where inflatable tubes were waiting for us and we white water rafted back to the village. Such fun!! I’m so happy I was guided by Orangutan Trekking as they are not only very good at what they do, they are lovely people and made it a very special and fun experience. I would say if you’re thinking of taking a trip of a lifetime, go to Bukit Lawang, it’s a magical place and book with Orangutan Trekking because they are the best! I’m definitely going back to do it all over again. See you soon!

I went on a trek with Amin and his assistant and it was a wonderful experience. We saw a lot of animals such as orangutans, toucans and baboons. The trekking was amazing, and Amin was all the time making sure if we need to stop or if it was missing something. Amin is a very attentive and kind guide and I am so grateful that he was guiding me. At night we camped near the river, and it was a delight, hearing de sound of the forest and seeing the stars. All the food was superb, also you could tell that the team makes everything with love and care. Besides his passion for being a guide, he is knowledgeable about the wildlife, and you can tell that he cares about environmental issues and protecting the animals. In fact, Amin invited me to join a collect trash day with an association, and I kindly did. I wish everyone could have the same experience that I had. Amin is a kind, attentive and polite guide and you will not regret choosing him. Thank you, Amin.

The relationship that Amin has with “Jackie” and the other orangutan creates such a relaxed and enjoyable trek. Amin and his crew are conscientious, respectful and knowledgeable guides who hold the health and welfare of the jungle and it’s inhabitants first and foremost. This was our second trek with orangutan trekking and won’t be the last
