I did a two day trek with Orangutan Trekking and I have to say it was the most incredible experience of my life! My guides, Amin and Andra are experts at what they do and I felt very safe in their hands. They listened and read the signs of where the orangutans were and as a result of this I managed to see 8 orangutans! Mothers with babies, a male, and even a male and female cuddling in a tree!! There are no words to describe the feeling of witnessing that! We camped overnight by a stream and I showered in a waterfall!! Madi, the cook had hiked up from the village to produce the most amazing dinner after which the three guys sang songs adding to the atmosphere. The following morning Amin asked me to walk down the middle of the stream with him and wait. Suddenly Thomas Leaf monkeys were leaping over our heads from one side of the canopy to the other! Amazing! This experience is another testament to how experienced and knowledgeable the orangutan trekking guides are because they know their jungle and read the signs to give you the best possible experience. And they care that you do! The fun didn’t stop there though! We walked down to the river where inflatable tubes were waiting for us and we white water rafted back to the village. Such fun!! I’m so happy I was guided by Orangutan Trekking as they are not only very good at what they do, they are lovely people and made it a very special and fun experience. I would say if you’re thinking of taking a trip of a lifetime, go to Bukit Lawang, it’s a magical place and book with Orangutan Trekking because they are the best! I’m definitely going back to do it all over again. See you soon!

Had 3 days break over Chinese New year and heard to Bukit Lawang after finding Sarah and Orangutan Trekking months ago. The trekking was fantastic after first night in the Orangutan Hotel in beautiful Bukit Lawang. I walked with guide Erul who was very informative - saw orangutans in the wild plus macaws, monkeys, peacock and others and heard hornbills but not see. The jungle is amazing. After hiking for about 8 hours (with food/rest stops) we arrived at the river campsite after a slippery descent for a swim in crystal lear water and gourmet dinner cooked by Ujung. It had been raining so the river was flowing rapidly and provided a soothing background to a night in the jungle.
The next day Ujung and Erul assembled the 3-tyre rubber raft for the exciting rafting down the river back to Bukit Lawang. Ujung had carried the tires along the river from the town.
Then morning by the river was amazing with monkeys hopping around then trees on the far side and a monitor lizard fishing and lazing on the rocks.
All in. all a wonderful experience and I'd love to do it again for longer. CMcD

Where to start... Orangutan Trekking was amazing!! Rio was the most wonderful guide, he taught us many things about the jungle and made sure we felt comfortable and safe at all times. We were lucky enough to see Orangutans, Macaque, Monkeys, Gibbons and even a chameleon🦧🧡 We would 100% recommend this experience to anyone who loves animals and new adventure!

I had one of the best experiences ever with Orangutan Trekking. We took one overnight jungle trekking and saw over 12 orangutans in one single day! Amin and Rio are the best guides ever. They picked up us at the airport and drove directly to our accommodation in Bukit Lawang. Their knowledge about the animals, trails and jungle is incredible and their attitude helping and preparing the food, crossing the river and helping us at every moment was absolutely amazing. The food is next level, so tasty and they serve fruits along the way! Campsite is okay with mosquito net. The next day we went back to the village by rafting. I can't recommend this experience enough!

One of the best experiences of our lives thanks to our guide Rio, a local boy who makes trekking easier and above all fun! We did the one day tour and we were able to see up to 10 orangutans!! We only have words of gratitude for him and everyone who makes this great experience possible!

We had a great two-day trek with Amin. We traveled with our family with two children aged 6 and 8 and they were so well taken into account and attentive (on steep and slippery trails) that we were able to look around for ourselves. The guides also knew a lot about the monkeys and allowed us to watch the monkeys from an appropriate distance. That was reallly fantastic!!
… And the food along the way and at the camp was great. We really made the trek we were hoping for. We very muchrecommend this organization!

We had an amazing time in Bukit Lawang. I would really recommend this company. Our guide was amazing and he explained a lot during the trekking about the jungle. Before the trekking we could stay at the owners’ home, which was a good stay. Clean and comfortable. We could even extent a couple of nights after the trekking to explore Bukit Lawang a bit more.

My girlfriend and I did the three day treck and it was one of our favourite things have that we have ever done and we made memories that we will never forget ! The jungle was full of amazing wildlife, we saw about 10 orangutans, including a mother and her baby, as well as baboons, thomas monkeys, turtles and so much more! Our guides, Amin and Nasip taught us so many facts about the animals and plants and they were so attentive to our needs throughout the trek, even carrying my girlfriends bag for part of the trek. We ate better in the jungle than we have the whole of our backpacking trip, and we were provided with mats to sit on, so it was comfortable whilst eating. The campsites we stayed at were so picturesque and peaceful and we loved swimming in the nearby waterfall. On the last day we returned to camp by water rafting which was a quick way to get back and so much fun! Thank you to our guides for the best time !

We booked with orangutan trekking and so happy we did! We did the 2D 1N tour and it was amazing. Accommodation was amazing, staying with Sarah and Amin, who were lovely, along with their 2 cats! Could not recommend them enough and we might even be back one day!
