Even though I am not a model train lover there was plenty of interesting things to look at. This town is where they hold a big convention on model trains. About 60000 people attend which is pretty good as the town is only 55000

Märklin is a massive brand, very well respected in the world of model railways. As such, one would expect a lavish exhibition of their products in the form of a large model railway layout. Instead, there are about 3 small active displays. There are some...More

We were pretty disappointed in this 'museum' which turns out to be a large Marklin model train store with some train layouts. There are a couple of walls of display cases containing almost exclusively old model trains. Where are the old model boats and cars?...More

If you are into Continental European model railways, this is the place for you. If not, might be best avoided. For Marklin collectors, the shop is probably an Alladin's cave. Some interest for children - but limited, so probably quite a short visit.

If in Göppingen this is one of the things you have to see. Märklin history and shop combined but there are also 2 normal train shops in Göppingen that are worth a visit

Well wort the visit, a good few models and layouts on display and a great shop with surprisingly good deals for a factory shop. It is reasonably difficult to find so make sure you have a map! There is also a very interesting display on...More

It was a very small museum, but it took you through the produced trains of Märklin from the begining to the end,but I had expected more. Don't go to Göppingen only for this I would say. Only spent 20 minutes there. Great for children and...More

I'm a long standing Märklin fan (as used to be my dad, who got his first Märklin steam engine in the 1930's) and a Märklin Insider member and I looked forward to my first visit of the Märklin Museum / Experience. But as my wife...More
