At the point of my visit, the museum hosted in the Fuerte Matachin was unfortunately under renovation. Luckily, the guard let us enter the outer wall and have a walk around. It wasn't very spectacular, but still nice.

This is a museum you can visit if you are in the neighborhood, and has nothing else to do. It can easily be done in less than 20 minutes. To be hornets, I was not impressed.

Easy walk from downtown along the seawall. There's a good selection of canon here if you haven't seen too many already.

As a world traveler, any opportunity I get to know of my grandmother's heritage I am eager to know more. The museum gave me a wonderful insight into the Amerindians who inhabited Cuba as well.

So some of the displays are a bit faded, but no doubt there is little budget. Overall this gives a fascinating glimpse into the local history and some natural history as well. We got a guide for a couple CUC extra and she was excellent....More

Being the first Spanish settlement on the island it is inevitable that this defensive bastion was an early construction. It concentrates on those early days more than most other museums in Cuba do. It is well worth a pleasant walk from the town centre via...More

Very small museum, not a lot to see. We went here as part of a tour but probably wouldn't have gone otherwise. Lovely walk back to our Casa through the streets of Baracoa.
