The inside of this castle is basically non descript rooms, not much to see and certainly nothing exceptional. Nothing negative, just not remotely worth the trip from Prague. The outside is pretty as a picture though..
Krivoklat is a medieval castle that mixes different architecture styles, became a place of various important events in Bohemian and European history and has a breath-taking view on village below. I wish I had such a library as the one in this castle.

A picturesque castle nestled in a forest. Full of history, it dates to the 12th century. It is a beautiful and easy walk just reaching it, a lovely path through the gates and into the courtyard, surrounded by balconies. Only about an hour from Prague,...More

To go to Krivoklat, buy the train ticket at Hlavni Nadrazi (Praha hl.n.) in Prague for Krivoklat. You have to switch trains at Beroun. The train from Prague to Beroun takes 40 min. Then in Beroun switch to a local train to go to Krivoklat. The whole journey is about 1 1/2 hours total. There are only 2 morning departures from Beroun to Krivoklat. So you must catch the train from Prague to Beroun at either 9:12 or 11:42 to make the connection at Beroun. After you get off the train at Krivoklat, it is a 10-min. uphill walk to the castle from the train station. For the return journey, the train from Krivoklat to Beroun departs almost hourly in the afternoon at 14:06, 15:20, 16:11, 17:10, 18:58, and 20:54. I visited Krivoklat in May 2017 and you can see my review of Krivoklat in Tripadvisor.
