Nice easy part day trip from Baguio
Jan 2020
We went there early in the morning to see sunrise. Short and steep hike with a flashlight. As it was early morning we took a taxi, but the place is accessible from Baguio by a jeepney. The place is worth to see as it is only one of few peaks around Baguio available to hike. There is a small charge that is collected by a walking guide (25-50 pesos).

Nice easy hike
Dec 2019
Got a couple of hours to spare, take a hike up Mount Yangbew. It's a steep, but highly rewarding hike.

Sea of clouds (Mini Mt. Pulag)
Jun 2019 • Friends
From Baguio, it took us 25 minutes to get to the bottom trail of Mount Yangbew. We arrived there at around 5 pm to make sure we catch the sunset. There's a sari-sari store at the bottom trail, perfect for buying water and snacks. For the first 5 to 10 minutes, you will walk on a steep cemented road. After which, the hike starts. It was relatively easy but can be difficult to a few because of some parts of the trail that are slippery and very steep. It would take you around 20-40 minutes, depending on your pace. It's a perfect trail for beginners to practice their lowlander lungs!

Once you reach the top, a man will ask you to pay their required environmental fee: ₱30 for locals, ₱25 for students, and ₱50 for foreigners. You’d be welcomed with brown grasslands that are perfect for Instagram feeds. But more than anything else, the magnificent view of the sea of clouds will strike you, especially for first-timers like us. It's perfect to go during sunset to make sure you witness this scenery.

Going down can be challenging especially if you’re not wearing proper rubber shoes. Make sure also to bring flashlights if you're going down during nighttime as there are no lights in the trail.

Amazing view

Mount Jumbo/Yangbew has amazing view but due to its accessible location, it can get a little crowdy.

Mt. Yangbew
Apr 2019 • Solo
Nice trip, but make sure you arrive early in the morning (before 900h). I was there at 12:00 and then it gets foggy/cloudy.
At the entrance of the path (at Shilan Bekkel Rd) it said that the path will be closed from August 2019 and on. I could notice that the locals living there were not happy with all the tourists.
I don't know if there is another path going up the mountain than that one.

Easy hike
Dec 2018 • Friends
This was an easy hike for a big group like ours. Our hike to the peak was only less than 30 minutes. It was extremely hot since there were no shades like trees. Good thing we had a tent though. The view of La Trinidad Valley is amazing tho. And the sunset is just wow! 😍

Stunning Panoramic View
Jan 2018 • Family
Locally known as Mount Yangbew, this hike is a wonderful trip off the beaten path. I recommend going early in the morning as the colors of the sky are beautiful at that time. The afternoons are often cloudy. The hike is short but hard and completely worth it. There are a few parking spaces up the cemented part of the road. After that street parking is available on the shoulder before turning up to Yangbew.

LITTLE PULAG
Dec 2016
Called the Little Pulag of La Trinidad, Benguet because it looks like the grassy part of the famous Kabayan mountain. Getting there is not really free. It used to be but because it became a crime scene years ago, trekkers need to get a guide for 600 pesos. They offer discounts to students :) There's also a horseback ride for 300 pesos only. The mountain is picturesque the only downside is that there are no trees to offer you shade especially when the scorching heat of the sun strikes, there are big rocks though.

Hike!
Feb 2017 • Friends
Maybe because I had Mt Pulag before this, hiking this mountain came a bit easy but still breath-taking. Nakakahingal pa din. Lalo na pag may asong tumatahol.
The sight is cool! Especially the sun slowly peeking then showing itself.

It was a good morning!

Try the horseback riding!
Jan 2016 • Friends
The hike going here is manageable and the pathway is not very steep..we climb up in front and climb down on the back of the mountain so we were able to see both sides. What i enjoyed the most is the horseback riding in this area. The land is so wide and there were only two horses at that time and you have all the area for you to go around. If i remember it right, the ride is worth 100php for 30 minutes and the experience is worth more than that when you go to wright park----without the pungent smell and mud. Definitely worth it!
