Yes this is a replica but don't let that put you off. It is a perfect copy with brilliant guides. I recommend booking on line as you can then guarantee the tour in your own language.

I went here with my husband, welcome escape from the 38d sun! Such an interesting experience learning about the history of the caves and the area 34,000 years ago!. Really enjoyed the day - I would set aside at least 2-3 hrs for this as...More

First things first - THIS IS A REPLICA! If you fail to do any research and turn up expecting the ‘real’ cave (not accessible to the public), you will be disappointed. I found the site and tour hugely enjoyable and informative. The site is large...More

I liked it! Ok, first things first and as others have noted, this is not the original Chauvet Cave, so you will NOT see any real prehistoric paintings during your visit. Unfortunately, we discovered that only when we were about to enter the cave, so...More

Don’t bother only a replica! Tours are infrequent and mandatory . Waste of time and petrol. 45 minute wait for french tour 90minute for English.More

An amazing reproduction of the original caves, well done and truly a step back in time. I had not known much about the caves before entering. I enjoyed the experience as did everyone else in our group both English speaking and French. The walking audio...More

If you go there in order to see authentic cave paitings, you will be disappointed: at the entrance of the cave a sign will tell you for the first and only time that these are only replica in order to protect the original paintings. So...More

We went here on a wet day but would have hated to miss it. The cave recreation is amazing as were the paintings. We had quite a long wait to join an English tour but it was worth the wait and we filled the time...More

This i believe is an issue with the booking site design, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page the dates will be visible and you will be able to choose an available date.
