The Casa Roja building is a 100 years old and this small, uncluttered and informative museum is worth a visit if you happen to be in the town of Villa de Mazo. Please note that access is up about 8 deep steps. Clean bathrooms are located behind the small, well-maintained gardens. The pleasant lady at reception is passionate about the place and is most willing to answer any questions. About 30 - 45 minutes to cover the two floors. Delightful instrumental music in the background.. Entry fee is 2euros. The ground floor has stunning exhibits from the Corpus Christi Festival - all made from dried flowers and straw (see photos attached) and the top floor has embroidery work on display. At the entrance to the town of Villa de Mazo is the weaving (a dying art now as was explained to us) institute and again it is worth a visit (about 15 minutes). One of the weavers explained the whole process of making the yarn, weaving and marketing. English is not spoken. There is a shop where their goods are sold. It was closed at the time of our visit.

Called in to this imposing red building after walking through the gardens. Very pleasantly surprised by the impressive art and craftwork exhibited in this historical house which retains many original features including a lead bath.

Mazo itself is a nice town to visit - quite quiet. The Museo Casa Rosa should be visited. The building is lovely and the dried flower displays are fantastic. Some nice artwork and embroidery displays as well as room settings of old la Palma. Not one of the best museums but interesting if you want to view a bit of old La Palma. An hour or less is all you need.

Nice looking building; formerly a hotel. The museum contains some interesting pieces, mainly local craft (needlework, collage, etc) but there is no much of it and 10 minutes is about the maximum to stay. Spanish only text, so no information in other languages to support the exhibits. The interior is nice.
