We walked up from the river. Took 30 minutes through Forrest. There are soda machines there. Excellent views from the top of the castle. Then you could take the gondola down.

Historic castle is part of an area that has many things to see and explore. Impressive structure to take photos of and be sure to take the cable car up to the location. Great views

Yes, the Iwakuni Castle is yet another Japanese Castle but if you like the architecture and wouldn't mind a great view then this is definitely worth a visit.

Lived in Iwakuni for a year. Lots of beautiful things to see, this being one of them. Would recommend taking at least 2-3 hrs to visit. Spring time would be the best time.

There is no parking lot in the castle, so you can not go by car. You have 2 choices to go there. Take a ropeway or walk on the mountain path (about 2 kilometers) from the vicinity of Momijidani park.
