This paradise is better on the low tide. You can go 2 hours before the low tide to avoid the crowds.
The drive on moto from General Luna takes more than 1h. It was quite tiring, but the views were amazing. Avoid coming back at dark.
Please make sure to take all your trash back. Of possible, take a few extra trash from the unpolished persons. You will feel very good doing that.

Genial. We went at noon with the tide still low. We could enjoy all the natural pools. Somewhat crowded, but not at all crowded (August ‘24). It is recommended to go at low tide and carry escarpments. You pay a small access fee.

This beach is indeed turning into a heavenly beautiful natural pool in one cycle everyday during low tide only. At first you'll stroll along the ordinary white beach and you may say what's heavenly on this place? Then WOW! You'll be surprised with an absolutely breathtaking view of the crystal clear -- no its emerald clear lagoon to be exact. The locals called it a natural pool during high tide only. You swim in it and you will experience something magical. Specially when you dive deep and see the wonders of its corals, marine plants and various sea creatures.

This was the first stop during our two days' Siargao tour. Nice, big waves and great view, as well as a rock-laden turquoise "swimming pool" on the side.

This is the second time we visited “Magpupungko” as always we rode the motorcycle. Besides being fun, we had the chance to see the scenery and stop for some food and drinks. Good thing, we arrived at the place on a low tide so we managed to explore the rock formation and swim in it. We had a guest this time, a first timer in Philippines, and he really like the clean blue green water of the beach.

You go here because you're already passing by it. That's it. On our way up North of Siargao, we had to enter just for the sake. Yes, the rock pools were really different. They're actually quite nice if only lesser people were there.. We walked far up beyond the rock pools and the beach was full of trash. Trash from tourists and washed ashore by the sea when it's high tide. There's an entrance fee. Parking fee. Where does it go? The management should expect people visiting to wander far up and they should have in mind that people will see the garbages. Visit if you want. Just don't go beyond the pools so you won't get disappointed as much as you get disappointed seeing the flock of tourists.

Magpupungko is a marvel! The natural pools and rock formations are just gorgeous. Make sure to time your visit during low tide so you can fully enjoy the place.

This is the only snorkeling spot we found during our stay in Siargao. The place is filled with so many corals but be extra careful during high tide and when its raining because the current can be extreme too which might push you towards the corals when your inside the pool.

Its recommended to take lunch in this place because the carinderias offers affordable and delicious meals.

We hired some bikes and did a road trip from Cloud 9, it took us about 40mins to ride there and was well worth the effort. The view was spectacular and after being cooped up for 4 days during the typhoon it was great to get out on a sunny day. There is a 50p entry fee, and there is a small store and restaurant to buy food and drinks. The beach is beautiful and we walked over the tidal pools during low tide, is was spectacular. Definately a must see, the ride out was great as well, travelling through all the tiny villages and seeing all the loca kids, a must do while in Siargao!!

if you want to go for swimming, see to it that it's high tide. But if you want to see why the place is called "Magpupungko" (pungko means "sitting down"), then go when it's low tide. Take a walk on your right when you're facing the beach and then lo and behold!

See it for yourself!
