The UPLB Museum of Natural History has good collections of the Philippine "biodiversity." It serves as a research and documentation arm of the Philippine flora and fauna. You'll see items you've never seen before. However, the place needs rehabilitation. I believe there's much they can do to improve the displays and collections.

MNH has many interesting collections. This is a must place visit when in Los Banos. This is likewise an excellent place to visit for students' trips. The entrance fee is very cheap. The staff are very knowledgeable and firendly.

Yes, subsidies! It has a lot to offer, but due to poor maintenance, some of its collections are falling into disrepair and/or neglect. Nonetheless, the collection is diverse and covers a lot of fields in natural history. Cheap entrance fee but big in learning.

A quick visit to the UPLB Museum of Natural History revealed new and interesting exhibits, and gradual refurbishments of old and worn down dioramas. Fun time with their new live insects and epiphytes display.

I suggest that you start early in the day if you plan to go here. There's an extensive collection and just to go through in a good pace will be at least 2 hours. Afterwards, you can walk to the nearby Makiling Botanic Gardens (another review for this). And if you still have the time and energy, you can hike up to the Flat Rocks and Mudsprings.
I agree with the other reviews, in that, the collections are old and really needs some restorations. I hope assistance will arrive in time. I remember during the time when Dr. Rabor was still around and the collections were maintained much better.

Head over to the UPLB-Museum of Natural History and be treated to an amazing collection of Philippine Flora and Fauna on display both in the museum itself but also in the surrounding area. The museum is located at UPLB's upper (forestry) campus at the foot of Mt.Makiling. Ask for a guided tour from any of the museums knowledgeable staff and be astounded by the richness of the Philippines' biodiversity.

For anyone staying in Los Banos, this local museum is a must, with its focus on different things in each room. Located near the Dept of Forestry, the Makiling Botanic Gardens and a small biodiversity tree garden, the museum makes a good last stop on an interesting afternoon in nature. How long you stay depends on the depth of your interest in the Philippines flora and fauna.
