Nice view into the crater. Car access makes the ropeway unnecessary. View is good if there is no warning. Rent a car and drive there!

How I wish it was a clear day when we arrived but unfortunately it was extremely foggy. Nevertheless it's still a great facility to experience a volcano's caldera- if one is lucky. The Super Ring show is ok.

Came here via the local bus from Aso Train Station. The ropeway is closed but there is a large souvenir store at the first floor and a Aso Super Show on the second floor. The show is 15 minutes long and it is a light...More

Drive 3 hours from Beppu to this location but sadly its still closed thanks to Eruption in 2016, but you can still buy stuff, breath in the fresh air and go to museum in near proximity though. Sad but not discouraging. The parking is free...More

Sadly the rope way is under repair from the earthquake Japan experienced earlier this year.... however we drove up to the rope way hoping to get a glimpse of Mt Aso (which is actually 5 peaks). We were nicely surprised... it's actually very close. Not...More

I spent very long driving from Kumamoto, many roads were closed, both GPS and road closed detour sent me to West route and it's also a broken closed road when I got there. I had to drive around to East route from the JR station...More

It was closed so it maybe much better when operational. But do not watch this Aso Superring movie, it's not very interesting and definitely does not worth the price (500 yen)

This is the rope way where it will bring you to the top of Mount Aso. Great sceneries while ascending the mountain!

We drove towards the ropeway base but the roads were closed. Upon reading the website, found out the attraction is closed as the volcano is level 3. We did see the volcano from the museum carpark which was better than nothing!!

Hi, I don’t remember the date but it required extensive repair work.... I think for memory it was expected to be completed in July, but I’m not 100%. I must say though that it is still worth a visit even without the rope... More
