We did the full hike to the training area and back. Certainly if you don't have the time - to the picnic area and back would also be nice. The first portion of the hike up to the picnic area was fairly well shaded in...More

This is a really nice hike thought I wish the trail were a little wider in places. The views up the face of the mountain on the North Shore are spectacular. I read one place that the trail is 5.x miles round trip but AllTrails...More

I had heard about the Kealia Trail, and it didn't disappoint. The elevation gain is significant, but the trail has so many switchbacks you don't feel the steepness. There's a lot of shade, which keeps it from being too hot, except probably in the summer....More

Plenty of accurate trail descriptions up to the picnic table are already posted. I want to describe the hike from the picnic table to the Makua valley training area as listed in the "best hikes in Oahu" book. I got a late start, but if...More

We had a great time doing this trail, takes about 45 minutes up (to the picnic table) and 35 minutes down, the view is beautiful but once you get to the picnic table I was told you're halfway there, the view from the picnic table...More

This hike is no joke be prepared to have a lot of water and a ton of uphill hiking! The views as you progress to the top are amazing so don't wait until you get to the top near the picnic table if you are...More

This hike was recommended to us by our Airbnb hostess in Haleiwa. It starts at Dillingham Airfield on the northeast coast of Oahu. The mountain you are climbing is steep, but the trail makes liberal use of switchbacks, so the grade is never too bad....More

My husband, 18 month old daughter and I did this hike one Saturday morning and would thoroughly recommend it. It's quite a steep incline over 19 switchbacks and the views are fab. It's quite a sweaty workout hike as some of the switchbacks are in...More
