We were looking for local bamboo handicraft and handloom shop. Surprisingly, we did not see any such shops except 1. Rest of the shops were offering cloths and jackets. Nothing was different than what you can get in any city.

Typical crowded place. Had a local friend along, so wasn't completely lost. Loads of shops selling daily groceries, clothes, and so on. Not that touristy, as most wares target the locals. Thanks to my friend, we managed to taste the local food from a couple...More

We visited the Bazzar in the evening... as it is Christmas time it is teeming with shoppers. Heavy traffic jams all along the road. Small shops selling goods of every king.

Though the market is dated, it's yet to evolve with time... very crowded... unorganized. Traffic/ two wheeler parking and cramped walkway don't help!

For the locals, it might be a good market if you know where is what. Otherwise, we got stuck in the vegetables part. Along with vegetables, they were selling pickled fish. Could not take the smell. I, an avid shopper, could only find two shawls...More

Bara Bazaar is a huge flea market in Aizawl, you wouldn't know where it starts and ends. I personally recommend visiting markets in a new town or city, and Bara Bazaar in Aizawl will have all sorts of products being sold, most of them being...More
