Late leaving and very late returning. Complete lack of communication about what was happening. Standing on the dock for over an hour as small boats came and went. Our booked sailing left without us with no problem explanation. Come on, this is asking to much for an overpriced ride to an overcrowded beach. Obviously they booked too many people to meet their stat d schedule. Unacceptable!…

This is a reasonable option for visiting Lotu and / or Saleccia beaches. The beaches are wonderful and definitely worth the trip. However, there are some important details that need attention when using Le Popeye. Similar to some of the other reviews (I only realised this after visiting and then reading the reviews), that we were not given all the information necessary for a smooth return journey. For example, we were also not informed that the boat back would be with a different boat company (not a 'Le Popeye' branded boat we arrived on) - which was confusing as we nearly missed the boat. Also, the 4x4 vehicle did not meet us at the pre-booked time to return us from Saleccia to Lotu. We managed to get a ride with another company just in time to not miss our boat back to St Florent. Overall, the boats seem clean and well maintained, with a reasonable crew who seemed professional and helpful. However, this is an expensive trip, particularly in 'peak' summer prices. We paid 35 Euros each, so if you have a family, this is an expensive day out. I would also recommend buying tickets at least 1 day in advance - even though we did this, most timings were fully booked so we had a restricted choice of boat timings.…

The scenery was stunning, the sea calm and the sun shining. We spent an hour in the port then returned to the boat for a BBQ, swimming and snorkelling. …

Have sent them 3-4 emails and they don't reply. Website is only in French. Very disappointing given I wanted to book with them.

We booked for a trip visiting the beaches of the area which were said to be excellent but the outing was cancelled due to very heavy rain. As with most boat excursions in Corsica they include a baignade, which gives the people on the trip the opportunity to take a swim. It also fills in time for the organisers of the trip as the boat just anchors somewhere or other and the crew do nothing for this period, about half an hour I guess. We caught the 11.30 bus operated by Santini that leaves from the small bus station opposite the tourist office in St Nicholas Square. We were assured that we would be able to catch the 16.15, the last bus from St Florent to Bastia. As I say this did not happen because the trip was cancelled. Never mind, I guess it was not meant to happen.…
