Who knows how old this tree actually is? But legend has it that Hippocrates lectured his students under this tree. And it certainly looks ancient, with a huge iron framework holding it all together. There’s a very nice restaurant opposite as well.

Wonderful to see the tree has stood the test of time with earthquakes and wars etc, but it's sad to see it all fenced in and rubbish around it.

Wonderful to see the setting for Hippocrates and the teachings he passed on to the world. Its easy to imagine him sitting under the tree sharing his learnings. This is the start of a wonderful historical wander through the old city.

Lovely peaceful place to go and visit, the tree is very old so you cannot get too close but it still worth seeing. Good access for disabled too.

Ate at the select restaurant. The food was outstanding with good service. Looks so pretty in the evening with all the lights. Very romantic

Not worth to go to visit it especially. Nothing beautiful on it. A waste of time to go on foot to see it.

A real nice place to visit. Lots of cats around the tree. Also there is another old tree beneath the hippocrates tree which we found more interesting.

The story of this tree is just a legend, so I don’t think it’s a must visit. Still it’s a nice quiet place with many cats.

I’m not sure what I was expecting really but it was quite a disappointment. The tree (which if you read up online is not even the original) is held up by scaffolding- which I can understand I suppose but there is very little information at...More
