It was the most amazing experience I've ever had!! At the office in Gansbaai they offered us a nice breakfast and they gave a very thorough briefing on what to do and what to expect on the boat. The diving site is not far from...More
Would definitely recommend White Shark Ventures. Pick up was perfectly on time from my hotel in Capetown. Staff was knowledgeable and very friendly and courteous. Took a lot of the stress out from going out for the first shark cage diving experience. In the cage...More
No information was given about sharks. Saw absolutely NO sharks at all. Cannot expect to see any sharks in 8m water. Only 15min from shore. Thought we would go into the deep sea not stay near the shore.. no wonder we didn't see any sharks
No white sharks seen, (apparently not seen for 2 weeks), but did see a number of copper sharks. Not their fault but don't get your hopes up on whites.
My main problem was not a single mention about shark information, conservation, behaviour or anything. just...More
We went out with the tour group yesterday morning for the 10am session. My boyfriend and I are really interested in marine life and have seen many different sharks - but never a great white. We decided to book the tour with great white ventures...More

Myself and a few friends done the great white shark trip through this company with a tour operator (Adrenalin hunters website) in Gaansbai bay. Disappointed to see no great white sharks. On the website a big seller as advertised was a fur seal island which...More
The shark viewing site is about 15 minutes from shore, and all the boats are anchored nearby in the same area. In terms of shark viewing experience, I would think you get similar shark viewing experiences with the other companies since the boats use the...More
Well what can we say, this was the most awesome trip to see the Great Whites in their natural environment! As always with nature you aren’t guaranteed to see what you’ve gone looking for, however today we were not disappointed. The day started with a...More

did not use SCUBA because the visibility at the time of year we were there was only about 10-15ft and it was explained to us that the scuba bubbles tend to make the sharks really wary so they will not come in close to find out what is ther making the noise whereas if the visibility was better, say 40-50ft then the sharks could see what was making the noise and then even though they are wary would be able to see the origin of the bubble noise from a distance and then come in slowly to investigate as well as check out the food source. There was no snorkel because the best way to see the sharks without scuba or weights attached to you is to stand in the cage with your feet tucked under the bar close to the bottom of the cage and grip the upper bar with your hands, then when the sharks come in close ( the crew will tell you ) you can use both your feet and your hands pull yourself down to see the animals up close under the water. Just hold your breath and relax and you will see that you can stay under for several seconds. Also as stated in the other reply you get to see some really terriffic action on the surface too.
When you are not in the cage go to the top of the boat for the best shots and vis.
Hope this helped. We had a ball and I know you will too!
