Since we were in the area (Longsheng), and we wanted to catch the high-speed train from Sanjiang to Yangshuo, we decided to visit Chengyang to see the drum towers, wind and rain bridges, and experience the Dong minority culture. We enjoyed all of the above,...More

You will find a picture of this bridge in every tourist book. Seeing it in person however is quit impressive. In the morning the town women welcome the visitors to the town with singing and flowers.

Chinese government charges all travelers/tourists 60 yuan to enter this group of villages. It seems that the tourism has led to a lot of new construction which is undermining the character of the place. Also, of course, as like many other tourist places in China...More

Visited the area in November 2016 recomended by our guide book as one of the top things to see in Guangxi: extremely disapointing.. The villages are turned into a show of decadence. Hordes of tourists, trash and construction everywhere (mostly hotels I assume), while the...More

We drove across this bridge as our hotel was just on the other side. Other than it is built for cars (single lane traffic), this bridge is still a delight to see. Situated among actvely-farmed fields in a river valley (with working bamboo water wheels),...More
