Do both churches
Jul 2018 • Couples
The Greek church and the catholic church face each other and they are both worth a visit. Very well maintained and the scenery is spectacular. Doesn't take to long to do them both, but it is well worth it.

Greek church with interesting interior and a great view
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is one of the two greek churches in this village, built in the 12th century by greeks relocated by the genoese from Chios. This is a typical greek church with a lovely inside with interesting paintings, dedicated to St. Spiridon who is thought to have protected greek island from the turks, earthquakes and plagues and has body in the homonymous church in Corfu. From the church there is a great view of the other church and the bay.

A trip to Cargese, for discovering the Greek-Corsican identity
May 2015 • Friends
The Greek settlement in Corsica, dating from 1676, is remarkable among the colonies of its time for its very slow assimilation, but in the last years only some sense of Greek identity persisting to this day. However the Greco-Corsican construction of identity has been rather more precarious. Also a trip can permit to remember the particular historical circumstances of the colony , with its recorded attitude towards its Corsican neighbors, the continuity of its folk culture with its Greek antecedents, the conditions giving rise to its creedal identity. Visiting the Greek church, and eating some foods, is an opportunity for experience how much Cargesians have been assimilated.
