I visited here and the little fishermans cottage, it was so quiet and peaceful, with the river running through! I could imagine the monks here fishing, superb!

If you go to Cong, you will definitely happen upon this one your walk. It was a very interesting piece of history. I enjoyed reading what it was and what it was used for.

The fishing house was used by the monks to catch fish through a hole in the floor. You can sit in the window of the house and watch the River Cong rapidly pass by. This is a great place for a picnic.

The Monk's fishing house is in a very peaceful beautiful spot on the river right behind the Abbey ruins. Easy to walk. Park in the church parking lot. This is one of our favorite places in Ireland

What a beautiful little spot to just stop and spends few moments. There are several looped walks nearby through the forest . It is a wonderful spot - particularly recommend the pigeon hole looped walk - only takes about an hour but lots to see

It was very difficult to find parking in the small town of Cong. We walked to the Monks fishing house and a man was there fishing. We continued over the bridge to the woods which was beautiful.
