My wife and I took part in this tour on our honeymoon. We saw 3 different waterfalls and all were great with the popular Kawasan Falls probably the only slight disappointment, however the other 2 waterfalls were great. Definitely great fun and worthwhile. Tour guide was very helpful and taking photos on GoPro for us when ours malfunctioned at no extra cost was a bonus and we got some great shots of our experience. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I loved this adventure. Our guide Mario was incredible and we spent 3.5 hours climbing and jumping. Highly recommend this experience!

Kawasan falls was a great experience and one I will always remember. I lot of walking and cliff jumping into nice cool water. The guides were very helpful and always willing to help out. It’s around a 5 hour excursion so be prepared for plenty of walking, there is a nice lunch at the end of your long journey through the falls. Very scenic and beautiful place.

Highly recommend Cyan adventures! Swimming with Whale Sharks is definitely an incredible experience and canyoning is well worth the trip. Definitely prepare for a long day as the round trip from Moalboal to Oslob and then canyoning is a bit of a drive but you’ll be glad you did it!

We chose to do the 3 waterfalls tour instead of canyoneering, and we definitely made the right choice.
From the start we were well taken care of, they even picked us up from our hotel when we were only staying 100m away.
It was a private tour just me and my husband.
We knew we wanted to see Kawasan Falls but the team helped us choose the other 2.
First we had a nice scenic drive in the back of the jeepney to our first stop: Cambias Falls. It was an easy walk to the falls past capsicum and squash farms, without our guide Ryan pointing these out I wouldn’t even have noticed!
He took us to the second set of falls (which we had to ourselves) and showed us where to go safely and jump off. Again without him we wouldn’t have known where to go!
Next we went further south to Aguinid Falls, eating yummy snacks of sticky rice and fruit on the way. The guides at Aguinid were amazing and we got to do a mini canyoneering session.
Third was Kawasan Falls which was towards the end of the day with a lot of people leaving so we got some nice clear shots of the falls.
All in all it was very enjoyable, everything was taken care of for us and we can’t thank our guide enough!
I know it seems like an expensive option but it was so worth it and we’ve paid just as much for private island hopping tours in the past, with crews who don’t care but Ryan really made sure we were having fun all day!

Thank you for your detailed report.
If you like "off the beaten path" we can highly recommend our Abseiling/Technical Canyoneering Adventure. It is NOT in Kawasan, but 45 minutes south in an even more spectacular canyon without any people!

Had such a brilliant day and tour with our guides - they were such fun and really made the experience for us. One note was there was a rude American guy who meet us before the tour very unhelpful and bad attitude. But the guides were incredible and made for a fantastic day- would highly recommend

Sure you'll find something a little cheaper than the ~3500 php you pay at Cyan. But here some advantages you'll have in opposite to most other groups we saw:
- wet suite (water is very cold people from other groups shivered)
- wet shoes (very good grip, with normal shoes you have to watch out on slippery rocks)
- guide takes pictures/ videos (in general good if you do not have your own gopro, but also saw people that have were busy to look after their device and where to take pictures instead enjoying the trip)
- snack & lunch included (you do not have to carry money)
So under the line you pay more to get more convenience. For us it was totally worth it cause you can enjoye the nature and the adventure wihout shiver, slip, worrying about your valuables or watch the nice sourrundings just through a little cams display.
Thank you very much again Russel for guiding us through this experience ;-)

We did the three waterfalls trip with Russell. We really enjoyed this trip as it made it so easy to see multiple waterfalls in one day. We chose Dao Falls, Cambais and Kawasan out of the 5 or so choices. We were extremely pleased with our choices - Dao was so unique and beautiful and Cambais was equally beautiful but with more jumping in options. We swam at all the waterfalls. Kawasan was also nice and big with the three levels of waterfalls. Even though we went on a Sunday it still was not nearly as busy with tourism as I have experienced elsewhere in the world.
I felt the trip seemed expensive at first but it turned out to be great value. We ended up having a private tour since no one else signed up for our day. Transportation via jeepney was so easy and provided amazing views of Cebu. Filipino sticky rice and bananas with water provided as snacks and then a lovely meal overlooking the ocean and the sunset for us - BBQed chicken, rice, noodle stir fry, spring rolls, iced tea and fresh mango.
Loads of pictures and videos taken and uploaded very promptly - thanks! (FYI photos are nice but if you are wanting particularly good quality ones I would recommend taking your own camera/phone too).
Would definitely recommend this trip. Only feedback I would give is maybe include more interesting info about the waterfalls/the area when we’re travelling/stopping there.
Lockers available for storage at the Cyan office. Wet shoes and life jackets (optional) provided.

From our early morning start to our late afternoon drop off Rusel, JC, and Jen made this day perfect for us! They always had lots of energy, a positive attitude, and our safety in mind. If you’re lucky you’ll even be able to hear JC sing when he thinks everyone in the car is sleeping. JC was very funny and energetic which made the 3am wake up so much easier. Rusel was amazing on the canyoneering tour and encouraged us to do all the jumps while keeping us safe. You can tell he really loves his job which made it so much more enjoyable for us. The nature was beautiful and the food was great as well. The guides for this tour really made it great for us and the next time we come to the Philippines we will be booking another tour with Cyan!

Can you confirm hotel pickup from Magic Island resort in Moalboal? I am very nervous about missing my prepaid tour (and a day of diving to go on tour!)

Cyan Adventures here. For Canyoneering, we go to Kawasan Falls. But we have a family tour where we bring you to 3 other waterfalls: Dao Waterfalls, Aguinid Falls, Inambakan Falls or other falls (depending on season, water level, ...)

hi I am staying at Cebu city. I want to know how much is total package for whaleshark and canyoneering? also, am afraid of heights. if I can't jump off the cliffs any other way I can continue the journey?
OwnerFreeCyan
Cebu Island, Philippines67 contributions
Hello Martha, updated prices you find always on our website. Jumping is the fun part in the canyoneering. With our equipment and the help from our guides, nearly all guests overcome their fear of heights and are afterward proud of themselves. If you prefer more easy we recommend to do our Cebu South waterfall tour. No jumping there and amazing waterfalls and easy short hikes to the falls.

Our canyoning starts at 9am and finishes around 4 to 5pm.
For your question: Yes, that is possible. We also offer VIP tours where customers can choose other start time. In combination with choosing a slightly shorter route in the canyon, skipping lunch and not taking longer rests during the tour being back in Moalboal at around 12 should be possible.

I'd love to do the whale shark and canyoneering tour with my 11-year old. Is this possible?
OwnerFreeCyan
Cebu Island, Philippines67 contributions
Yes, you can.
The minimum age for Kawasan canyoning is 10 years.
We also have kids sizes for the shoes and for the wetsuits so he is perfectly equipped and does not get cold.

Is the trip available on December? If that so, how different compare to the peak season like March or April.
OwnerFreeCyan
Cebu Island, Philippines67 contributions
Hello Yuttana,
we have all Cyan Adventures year round and every day.
If you mean the weather then there is not much difference from December compared to March or April.
December which is considered rainy season has Amihan winds which come from NE.
So December has more rain on the east side of Cebu but less on the West where Moalboal and Cyan is located.
If you mean the amount of travelers then you have to know that December can be already same amount of guests like in March or April.
Many European and US travelers leave short before Christmas to escape the winter at home.
Feel free to email us if you have more questions.
Kind regards,
Wolfgang

OwnerFreeCyan

Hello Avinashmu,
it is around 20 to 30 minutes drive from Moalboal to Kawasan Canyoning and around 45 to 60 minutes to Malabuyoc Canyoning.

Can a family with kids (5yrs) able to join?
OwnerFreeCyan
Cebu Island, Philippines67 contributions
Yes, we have to confirm that for Canyoning or our 3 Waterfall tour 5 years is too young.
But we also have Sardine Snorkeling and a Whaleshark experience tour which are ok for 5 years old.
No swimming skills are required since we use life vests for all tours and also the Snorkeling and Whaleshark tour.
