About
Planet Action Adventure, the first and leading organizer of adventure tours in Cebu and Nergos Island Philippines and founded 1996 , specialised in outdoor adventure and adventure holiday packages. Our most popular day tours are our river climbing and canyoning tours. These are quite challenging and offer awesome action for everybody. The Horseback riding tour in the mountains of Cebu is also exciting adventure for beginner as well expert riders. On our caving tour you explore one of biggest caves in the Philippines. In the bizarre South Cebu Highland trekking offer great view from the highest tops of Cebu to close by islands. For adventurous kids above 4 years old planet action prepare some fun tours to waterfalls, jungle, little caves and beaches. These tours are day tours and start around 9am and end sometime in the afternoon at Panagsama Beach in Moalboal. During this time all you need is provided by us like food, climbing equipments, and transfer from Moalboal by action truck. Depend on the activity the rates are between 2500 - 3500 Philippine Peso (P) per person for a whole day excursions. We arrange these tours with minimum of two participants every day of the week. For groups of 4 and up we recommend our multi days trekking and climbing adventure. Our most challenging tour is the 2.5 days ascend to the crater of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon on Nergos Island. We spend one night in tents at around 2300 meter above sea level beside the steaming crater. Further this very challenging tour we also offer an easy two days jungle trekking tour at the Twin lakes in Negros, where we camp beside a crater lake surrounded by lush rain forest. Besides organized tours you can rent bikes in Moalboal. You can explore caves, rice terraces, white sandy beaches and orchid farm by yourself. We have special maps and tour descriptions where you find all these places of interest. Rental rates for Mountain Bikes are 300, 500 and 1000 PHP per day.

We did 2 tours with this group, organised from Australia, a private tour to Oslob with whale sharks and waterfalls, and a group tour to Kaswan canyoning. Both were excellent, punctual, safe drivers and we highlky recommend this company and also the tours

The tour was well organized. Would definitely do it again with them so highly recommend. Safety gear was appropriate and our guide was one of the few carrying an additional rope and a dry bag with him, just in case. They picked us up on time and we were very lucky that on the tour was nobody else except us. Justin, our guide does the tour for almost ten years so he knew every rock and was still highly motivated to share his knowledge about the Kawasan Falls, local people, food and everything else we asked him

After a pick-up at the resort in Moalboal dropped off at the entrance on the mountain with the guide Justine. After a short briefing you walk to the canyon for 30 minutes. Water has a lovely temperature of 20-22 degrees. Make sure you wear shoes. Live jackets have a zipper on the front so you can bring some money and a waterproof mobile phone / GoPro.
Total trip takes 4-5 hours including lunch towards the end of the trip.
You currently have two big jumps of 7 and 9 meters. The last jump at the big waterfall is no longer allowed. You can now climb behind it and dive into the lagoon through the waterfall. On weekends, it can be very busy here for visitors from Cebu City. Locals provide a BBQ in the canyon halfway through the trip.
Plant Action teams up with a local for a delicious chicken and pork lunch.
A few large flood waves have destroyed a lot and changed the position of the river somewhat. After the half of the trip, the river "disappears" and you walk through an almost dry bed. At the last jump, this underground river resurfaces.
Is a proliferation of organizations that offer trip. Plant Action seems to be the first. Our young guide was very experienced and above all very nice.

Canyoneering exceeded our expectations, you see a lot jump a lot and then eat a lot afterwards! According to GPS, we covered 7 miles of varied terrain, largely in the river itself. It sounds like a lot, but the first km or so is on the zipwire (great view, exciting, but not scary) and we were completely immersed (physically as well as metaphorically!) in the scramble, so it didn’t feel too arduous.
The ziplining was 500PHP each and made sense – the alternative is a 45 minute walk through the jungle.
My wife and I have different appetites for adrenaline, but both thoroughly enjoyed canyoneering: great for thrill seekers, but with escape routes from the jumps for those who don’t love heights. There were probably about 7 plunge pools to jump into, albeit the final two big ones are currently out of action due to typhoon damage. This didn’t feel significantly detrimental to the experience, the remaining jumps and rope swing were plenty and furthermore, the river valley was spectacular to traverse.
Our tour guides were engaging and helpful, they took a waterproof camera to take photos and videos.
In terms of what to wear, I went for shorts and t shirt to dry quickly, whereas my wife wore a wetsuit, both of us were comfortable. In terms of footwear, you can borrow trainers/water shoes, flip flops won’t cut it and obviously don’t take shoes you care about!
I’d recommend taking some cash to buy food from the little snack stalls and BBQs along the route, it’s practically a full day you’re gone for and I was hungry without! You do get a meal afterwards, which was tasty and generous, but it’s mid afternoon, not lunchtime.

We were feeling being taken care of during the whole trip - Kawasan canyoneering. We booked it a day before. Our guides were really nice and helpful. After that we got deliciuous lunch. However during booking body mentioned that it is recommended to take some small money with you (you can but some snacks/water in the canyon) and the life vests were quite old (safe, but most of them had destroyed pockets). In general I can recommend.

We did the Canyoneering day trip to Kawasan falls and we loved it. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They let us borrow money for water during the stay in the falls (since we left the money in the car). The lunch that comes with the trip was good. We could stop a lots of time to take photos and the guides were attentive tho the groups wishes.

Don't use these guys.
The only info available at most hotels is a pretty picture that does not detail what is involved.
I did the Osmeana Peake trek - they were quick to get the legal waiver signed before info was given. Even then a comment of "its about 3 hours up and 2.5 down is that ok" was not true.
It was dangeroug and slippery with no formed track.
You needed hiking boots, lots of water (they don't provide) and to be trek hardend.
The walk took more like 8 hours with 30min at the top. And was dangerous and difficult needing high levels of fitness.
Appalling company and poor imformation and communication with hotels and people booking.

Wow, what an experience! We were the only people who chose this canyoning option, so we ended up on a private tour with Mario and Lori. They are very proficient at what they do and advised us of the best way to tackle each waterfall and jump. The waterfalls were incredible. We both felt this was the biggest adrenaline rush we’ve had for a while, so if you love an adventure then go for it!
That said, there are a couple of things we’d like to mention where there is room for improvement. Firstly from a safety perspective, we weren’t shown any abseiling techniques until we were about to make our first decent down a waterfall. There were some jumps that were honestly terrifying and the water was not always as deep as made out. On the whole we were made to feel looked after, but safety cannot be compared to doing a similar thing in the UK. Finally, we were disappointed with the amount of waiting around and faffing on the way to and from the canyoning experience. We were picked up at 9am and returned around 4pm, but the canyoning itself only lasted around 90mins. On the way there, we stopped for food, petrol and drop offs for other tours. On the way back, we made a stop at a supermarket for one of the staff members to pick something up. It did waste time for us.
On the whole, we would still recommend this experience but be aware of the real risks that it poses and the time taken out of your day for unrelated stops.

Tisan Canyon – Is the name is given by the tour company but not found on any map. The section of canyon we descended is the lower reaches of the river containing Kabutongan Falls.
There are a couple of ways to review this trip. It is at the same time both awesome and dangerous. The canyon and scenery is stunning and for a tourist “adventure” day trip it’s an exhilarating experience. The guides or at least the ones we had were friendly and fun to be with but their technical skills are limited and frankly the way they run the trip is dangerous. The saying “they don’t know what they don’t know” has never applied more.
The bottom line is you can have a great adventure but the risk to life cannot be underestimated. As a minimum, the guides need training in setting up the abseils to make them safe. It would also be better practice if the clients were given a brief and had the techniques required for abseiling demonstrated and practiced before entering the canyon. In our case the tour company nor the guides made any attempt to assess our skills level before the first abseil were they were happy to send us over the edge with no safety line or back up in place. The anchor points they used to set up an initial anchor were not acceptable and I stepped in to change the anchor point. The ropes they set up were 10m short and had no means to stop clients abseiling off the end of the rope and hence falling the final 10m. The guides offered solution was to stop on a very steep ledge and jump the last 10m. For some our group members this was not acceptable, however, the guide basically didn’t have a solution. At this point I stepped in again to provide a safe solution for getting everyone down the remaining 10m.
I cannot fault the guides, they are only as good as the training they have been given. They were open to discussion and interested in learning alternative methods. Less can be said for the operator who should review the activities they are offering, but again I suspect the saying “they don’t know what they don’t know” applies.
Potential clients need to know that although things may look right to the untrained and inexperienced the practices used by this company are frankly dangerous.

A colleague had recommended this company (and staying at Tipolo resort) and we could not have been happier. We were hoping to do the trek as well, but all we managed to fit in during our stay was the Montaneza canyoning.
Mario and his son were fantastic guides! They were efficient, encouraging, and safe. We were the only ones rappelling down this gorgeous waterfall canyon, which included fun jumps into pools as well and ended with some hot springs. Each part was different, and the right amount of challenging. We loved every second.

We just ran into Planet Action Adventure but there are a lot of other groups. We were happy with the company and the 2 guides they provided. You can shop around when you get to Cebu, prices vary but don’t be afraid to bargain...just don’t lowball. Best thing we did...you’ll have fun!
