This was our first stop during our #ChasingWaterfalls adventure in Iligan.

From the Brgy San Roque Intersection, we rode a Habalhabal (motorcycle ride) up to the starting point of our trek to Dodiongan Falls. Fare was 35pesos each, one way. You can ask for the driver to wait for you if you will not be staying too long.

Upon reaching the place, you can ask for the kids to be your guide. Trust me, you need one. There's no fixed price for the guide so fee is all up to you.

During the trek, we crossed the river twice. Walked through a clear path in some areas.. Dont wear anything slippery. There were a few times when we almost slipped during the trek. I had to remove my slippers and walk barefoot. It was not something I regret, it was a fun thing to do so! :) Depending on you pace, it would take 20-30minutes to get to the falls.

There is no entrance fee to the place. It is not yet commercialized which was a good thing! There was only us and 5 others who were in the place during our visit. To think it was during the weekend. There are no food stalls there so bring your own food.

Water was cool. But we didnt take a dip because we were in a hurry to get to our next destination.

If youre looking for adventure with minimal cost, come to Dodiongan Falls! :)

The hike to the falls is relatively easy needing and visitors can wear slippers or sandals.

The falls itself is very high and looks good. I've seen photos of this falls when it has plenty of water but the water during summer is very thin.

The catch basin is big enough for less than 50 people and looks clean enough to swim in.

I saw very few trash lying around. But there were big vandalism on the rocks of waterfalls.

I want to visit this again when there is plenty of water.

The view is really but i don't recommend for swimming. The place is quite distance from the accessible road. You need to trek and cross rivers for about 10-15 minutes.

The road going to Dodiongan Falls is both developed and undeveloped, it being the Bukidnon-Iligan Road that is currently under construction. Expected you will have smooth sailing trip on the road and then some rugged rough road ahead.

What I love about the Dodiongan Falls trail is that it was so easy to take, which was good for me, given I had leg cramps and was in total discomfort. The walking trail was so easy to navigate that I could go back there without any tour guide to get me by. This is because this trail is used by people in some remote settlements around the area. You would see a nipa hut here, a woman washing clothes there, and evidences that people live around the trail.

Dodiongan Falls is handsome in it's 65 ft water drop. Massive. Daunting. Beautiful in a strong way. And we made it here!

Better stay in Iligan City. From the city, look for a motorcycle or 'Habal-habal' going to Brgy. Digkilaan where Dodiongan Falls is located. Basically, it would be a package deal that should range from P300 to P400 for two-way.

From the jump off point at Brgy. Digkilaan, you will trek 20-30 minutes to the site. You can request kid(s) to guide you to the falls at P50 each or depending on your budget. No entrance fee.

There is no food available, thus you have to bring your own food or snacks and drinking water.

There is a discrepancy of the pictures of the waterfalls. The picture above is the Limunsudan Falls in Brgy. Rogongon, Iligan City while that of Limunsudan is the picture of Dodiongan Falls.

Been to this waterfalls during my college days. This is in Brgy Bonbonon, Iligan City, around 15 km from the city proper. You can reach here by jeepney going to Digkilaan or via motorcycle.

Just be careful at the pool. There are some leech in the area that might bite and suck your blood.

I took a jeepney from downtown Iligan and asked to be dropped off at the crossroad for the falls. Several habal habal riders are waiting on the corner to take people to the falls. The ride there included a few kms of rocky road then a trek tot he falls.
September wasn't the best time to visit as the falls wasn't much more than dribble though I was told Mindanao had been in drought for the past 3 months.
I was disappointed but I'm guessing when it is in full flow it would be worth the effort to see.

Well worth a visit, for those who like a wild place no development unlike some of the falls around Iligan which i have seen comerchalised over the last 25 years. Leave Iligan on the road to Cagayan cross the bridge turn right follow the new road untill it crosses the river turn right up a track where signed at the end of the track ask the way or get a guide its about 30 min trek you will need to ford the stream twice so shorts are the order of the day, there is nowhere near the falls to bye food or drink so bring your own, Just take your litter home some people have not bothered, still that's normal in the Philippines, The locals don't drink the water you don't know whats happening higher up the stream! but well worth the trek I made it on two new hips.

Water is not really clean, you'll see empty coconut shells at the left part of the falls.. there are vandals on stones too.. but the falls is really beautiful, I'd still say it's worth visiting.

NOTE: Do not wear shoes and pants. -.-

Life jackets are available for rent.. :)
