We loved our time diving with TSD and would 100% recommend them. There is clearly a very high standard of professionalism and dedication to safety in all they do.
Me and my boyfriend completed our Advance Open Water with TSD - our divemaster was Thom who's attention to detail, knowledge and care for us was impeccable (he was also very kind and patient with us, thank you!)
We were also lucky enough to have Carlo - a newly qualified instructor - with us, his passion and dedication to diving, safety, knowledge and ensuring we all had an exciting experience was very clear! They were an excellent team we were lucky to dive with them, both explaining things clearly and providing and reassurance throughout. I was anxious having not dived for over 2 years and they made me feel calm at all times and seriously boosted my confidence diving.
And we of course saw Thresher Sharks which was super special! Oh and you get a swanky TSD t-shirt too.
Thanks Thom and Carlo <3
A side note: I've seen reviews about sociability of instructors, while ours were both really chatty and made our time good fun - this should not be an expectation or something to judge instructors/dms by!! First and foremost divemasters are there to keep us safe, educate and improve our confidence/skills as divers. They're humans too and diving/instructing to the high level of standard we want, means rest and recuperation is essential. Diving is also a calm, meditative experience and so I appreciate a calm, zen instructor. Thanks again TSD!

I rarely write reviews. But in this case, I did read a few not so good reviews after I did my booking and if I would have read them before, it might have influenced my decision to book with TSD. Now after 6 days and 17 dives here on Malapascua with TSD I just want to say I had a fantastic experience all way through.
Very professional organization, everything worked from beginning to end including transfer from Cebu and Hotel booking ( quite last minute). Communication up front was very clear and all necessary extra cost related to the different dive sites were communicated clearly up front.
The international team and the office team were always friendly and helpful and the local team of guides and the boat crews were just fantastic. They are the ones who really make the difference in the end and as said before, I had a wonderful time thanks to them.
A big thank you to all team, especially of course the ones I have been diving and spending time on the boat with.

Only one word to describe this trip. AMAZING. My partner and I are both ex diving instructor and have working in the industry for well over 10 years.
These guys are a very well run and a professional outfit.
We booked the package at Blanco resort with diving and it was well worth the money and in a beautiful spot.
Both dive centre and hotel moved our booking free of charge due to the Microsoft outage we arrived 24hours late.
Tony the manager was very transparent with the plans due to the weather and made sure he not only accommodated for us but for everyone.
We did 10 dives with Wilbert,Mark Hilbert and Meg (dmt) all great guides.
We will definitely be back and will recommend our friends.
Thanks
Joe and Jess

My partner and I completed our PADI Open Water certification with TSD, and we couldn't recommend it more highly. Our instructors, Carlo and Davina, were exceptional in delivering the course material, ensuring we progressed at our own pace while thoroughly explaining the purpose behind each skill. Their professionalism and experience were evident throughout, making the entire process feel reassuring and well-guided. Beyond the technical aspects, we had an absolute blast, as both Carlo and Davina were not only approachable but also fun to be around. Upon completing the Open Water course, we had the opportunity to dive with the majestic Threshers—an unforgettable experience. Malapascua's marine life is truly stunning, and we're so glad we chose this dive centre to learn.

Did my Advanced with TSD and it was so much fun. Even before I had got there they were so helpful with arranging transportation and last minute changes. Thanks so much to Jen for handling all of that like a pro! Once I set foot on the island Thom my instructor was so welcoming and made the whole experience enjoyable while guiding me through the course. Everyone at TSD was very welcoming and it was a great community for the short time I was with them. My only regret was that I didn’t stay longer

Awesome dive shop with local guides!
We dived with Wilbert, Mark, and Tara, but all guides are local and they know their stuff. They do two dives at Kimud Shoal every morning, and the Threshers are there! Tried looking for the resident Tiger at Monos Shoal (where the Threshers used to hang out), but no luck. Am told folks occasionally see Hammerheads and Mola Molas, but we haven’t (yet).
Also did afternoon muck dives and night dives. Seahorses including the Pygmy are a sure thing, bring your magnifying glass (I didn’t). And at twilight, you can find the mating Mandarin fishes.
Boats - depend on which dive you’re on. Threshers and Gato island trips take the banka (bamboo outrigger boats) but muck and night dives use a smaller boat.
Highly recommend!

We arranged our Advanced Open Water training with TSD. We were instructed by Thom and Carlo, who both provided first class tuition throughout. Very clear instructions and empathetic approach to alleviate any small worries we had after 2.5 years out of the water (refresher was included). We were closely supervised and felt incredibly safe 100% of the time. All staff there were very friendly and helpful. Most importantly we had a lot of fun and had some amazing encounters over the two days thanks to Thom, Carlo and the rest of the crew. Would recommend to anyone.

My teenage son and I had a wonderful experience diving with Thresher Shark Divers. This is my second trip to Malapascua and diving with the same dive shop and my son's first trip. Shout out to the great people working here and special mention to: RISSA who helped us with the information we needed before our travel and for being my son's nitrox course instructor (which he said was a good instructor). To our guide MARK, thank you for taking excellent care of us throughout our dives (and Rissa). We had a great night dive with with Mark and Marvin at Evo. Thanks to LEON for helping us feel welcome again. We had a most enjoyable trip! Thanks again to everyone. 🙂

Hi there!which are the nearest resorts to your dive centre? Any recommendations?
Written March 9, 2022
Hi, we have booked a hotel/dive package and not sure which dive center we will be diving with.
Do the dive centers offering a dive insurance per each dive or do I need to make a special dive insurance for the 10 days we are there, before I arrive?
If yes how much is the insurance per dive?
Written February 22, 2019
Hi, insurance is usually up to you to provide. You can buy annual DAN insurance. Or you can buy a few days through
a link on our site, I can't post links here, bu you can email us for more info.

Can I just walk in for dive trip without booking? Is the price the same? My plan would be on coming Oct.
Written September 3, 2018
Hi John, It's a good idea to pre-book if you can, but we will do our best to get you wet if you are unable to do so :)

Hi there, Tripadvisor won't allow us to post actual email addresses, but it's dive at thresherdivers if you can work that out, look forward to hearing from you!
Written August 24, 2018
Hi all! It seems like many reviewed that TSD can be a lil pricey albeit worth it and I’d like to know
1. How much would doing AOW cost
2. Which resort should I stay
3. Will I have a chance to see the Thresher Sharks while doing AOW
4. Should going on a public holiday be really avoided as I’m planning to visit on the Good Friday weekend
Sorry for the many questions and really appreciate any help I can get!
Written January 14, 2018
Hi there! ~Thanks for your enquiry. There is quite a lot of info to send you so if it's possible to email that would be great (sorry, TA won't allow email addresses in this answer). But basically, AOW is P16,000 and there are many resort options. And yes, you see the sharks on the AOW :) However you are correct, holiday weekend are very busy, and so if you can come another time that would be better :)

Hi - do the rooms have hairdryers in them?
Written September 3, 2015
Hi Katy, we don't have our own rooms, but as far as I'm aware none of the resorts have hairdryers. I have long hair myself and it dries really quickly as it's so warm all the time.
