Really impressive!

We were staying at the apartment over the road owned by the family and just came across the road for the visit. Many thanks to Liliana who gave us a fascinating talk and tasting session. I’d never had such lovely oils and I certainly didn’t know that they could taste so different. We bought some to take home, I just need to make sure that my cooking lives up to the oils now!

Must Not Miss!

From the minute we entered this beautiful property, Riccardo shared his passion for, and knowledge of this boutique virgin olive oil business-the process from planting trees, picking olives, pressing, filtering, to packaging and selling. Very educational with an interactive and fun presentation. We were also able to meet Mr. Bonomelli which was an honor. This establishment is the epitome of integrity and only the highest of quality. Thank you, Riccardo!

Educational Tour

Riccardo was an incredible host and provided a fantastic and engaging presentation about the history of olive oil and how to tell quality products in modern day. It has won the award for best olive oil in the world and was unlike anything I've had the pleasure of tasting before. Truly a highlight on our trip through northern Italy.

World class olive oil explained and the validated by your own taste test!
Jul 2017 • Couples
We had the unexpected chance to learn about olive oil production and the unique history of the Bonomelli's almost 20 year family project to make world class olive oil. The production & sales manager, Riccardo Farabegoli, gave his time generously to share details of how olive oil is made and the variables that impact the quality of the oil. We learned the characteristics assessed by judges in the competitions.

This property on the hillside facing picturesque Lake Garda has olive trees dating over 100 years old and produces, in very limited quantities, varietal olive oils which have won the most prestigious competitions in Italy, Spain and elsewhere.

If you have a free morning or afternoon and serious about the subject of olive oil the visit is very worthwhile. You will have the chance to learn and taste. Getting to the farm is a driving adventure as well.

After my visit I don't think I can buy olive oil in the supermarket again!

Visit to an Olive Farm
Jul 2017 • Family
Whilst staying in Lazise I fancied a trip to an olive farm.
Roberto was extremely generous with his time and gave us a long chat about the olive farm and what makes them special. We were even shown how to taste the olive oil as professionals! He was very passionate and we were grateful for our visit.

I would have loved to have seen the olive groves and learnt more about/seen the processing equipment so I would suggest anyone visiting books in for a tour in advance, as we did not get the chance to do this (only offered for 8+ people).

Otherwise it was very interesting to learn about the farm and we came home with lots of extra virgin olive oil (which you can expect to be a lot more bitter and spicy than the oil found in English shops!)

Worth a trip if you are in the area and have an interest in food and processing, and a love for genuine extra virgin olive oil!

Excellent Visit
Jun 2017 • Couples
My wife and I stopped by, unannounced, and had a wonderful visit. Ricardo was extremely generous with his time and walked us through several fascinating aspects of olive oil production and what makes Paolo Bonomelli unique. We ended up staying for almost two hours and sampled some of the olive oil. We, of course, also purchased some to take home with us.
Since we did not arrange our visit ahead of time, we did not do the full tour. However, I'm sure it would be great based on our experience with our private tasting.
If you enjoy learning about olive oil and tasting some of the best in the world, you will love this place.
