Good for young children although some were frightened by the swans and geese who chased them for food. Our boys loved picking up and cuddling the pullets and enjoyed the doves landing on them. The gardens were attractive with plenty of ponds and a view...More

We visit the Bird Garden now for approximately five years as family. Still love to prepare a little picnic basket and drive there to see what's new. Junior loves to feed the many different types of birds (and goats). I enjoy the plants and study...More

Easy to navigate around and for the most part wheelchair friendly. Many chooks and baby chickens running around at present. Not a large range of birds there. Was fun to see a large family of fantails playing in the treeferns.

Disappointed after being drawn by positive ratings. The wild birds in the native tree areas were a pleasure to watch but that could be seen outside the park; inside it, the ducklings and chicks were nice to see but most of the birds that are...More

This is a safe, somewhat confined, place to let children under age 10 run and play and feed the birds. Paths are marshy, so wear gumboots or water proof foot gear. The bird species were fairly mundane but friendly. A few exotic, imported species. Have...More

The kids loved it. The ducklings and chicks kept them entertained. Well set out path with a Moa statue and tree house provided variety along the way. Morning tea in the tree house was fun as was the cafe, kids playground and impressive peacock at...More
