I’ve been to this place two times now. The first time I went I did a guided hike. There are a few different options (distance and difficulty) We took the shorter hike with a guide. He did an excellent job explaining the area, agriculture, history...More

Just lovely and not too arduous a walk to the viewpoints conducted by charming guides who are volunteers but hope to please and help finance their studies. The lake in the centre is a fabulous colour. This volcano was the inspiration for Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's...More

No words can describe the paradise. Let aside trash along the roads and poverty, El Salvador is a bag full of jewels and Cerro Verde is probably one of the biggest. Really worth spending the day walking up and down the volcanos.

Easyish trek to craters edge with our two kids aged 9 & 10. Fun if a little slow on the weekend when lots of locals also go up & home made delicious Ice Lollies for sale await you at the top :-)

I was on a private tour, so it was really tranquil. I could spot some wild birds, and the vegetation here is very unique and distinct.

This is the start of the Santa Anna volcano tour. There is a beautiful flower garden at the start with humming birds and a view of the newly formed izalco volcano.

That's the place where you start your hike to either Izalco or Santa Ana volcano. Enough parking space in the area, some local souvenirs, fruit and food available.

There's a Tourism Police post at the entrance of the Campo Bello property. They do tours to the Izalco and Santa Ana volcanoes. Call the Campo Bello office at +503 2271-0853 they can give you more information. cheers.
