Very peaceful museum. We were almost alone when we visited. It is big enough to display a lot of pieces. I particularly loved the Hindu ones, some carvings were so intricate and so well preserved; superb!!! Do not miss it if you are a history...More

An excellent chronological & geological history of this provincial area, complete with museum-quality prehistoric exhibits as well as interesting historic exhibits, like early woven fish traps, ancient pottery and clay and metal tools & artifacts. Very nice small museum situated in the downtown area. We enjoyed what exhibits they have, altho it is limited. Well worth a walk thru.

The provincial branches of the National Museum were a remarkable achievement on the part of a poor, developing country when they were first established, but they've been subjected to chronic underfunding by the central government in recent years. You can feel some of the effect...More

A little disappointing in terms of content. When we visited it was having some renovation work done. It could really do with some more enthusiasm but friendly and lovely staff.

If your in the city and interested in History then it's worth a look. Nearly all the exhibits and their description were translated into Thai. There are lots of artifacts from Khmer temple ruins and a room about Thai textiles and some interesting old Issan...More
