It says an hour return - and it's pretty accurate if you're a little bit limited with mobility. Would be much less if completely able-bodied. The track starts very well graded and levelled and does get a bit rougher near the end - but its...More

The hotel guide indicated a "easy trek". Don't be misled. It ahs lots of huge boulders on the way and tough to climb and navigate. We had howling winds of about 30 mph which did not help. There are 2 benches to rest but both...More

A 1 hour return walk to a view point at Mt Cook campground. Weather wasn't bad as a bit of a nor-westerly blowing keeping the temperature at around 11°. Little rain. Although Mt Cook summit was in cloud , we had views of the neighbouring...More

Kea point track is much shorter than Hooker valley. It took 1.5 hours for me to complete the return trip from the hermitage. The track is not steep, but be careful with the steps since gravels can be slippery.

We had the opportunity to take the walk to Kea Point for an afternoon and it was great fun. The walk is an easy one. On the way it was dry but on the way back the melting caused the water to flow a bit,...More

We did this hike one late afternoon. The path is well maintained but you still have an incline to go up. It was just us and a few other couples we passed, so it was quite nice. The view of Mount Cook and the glacier...More

From the Hermitage Hotel, maybe a hour walk each way. Fantastic views the whole way, as well as at the terminal point of the walk. A well maintained trail that is easy-to-walk. It is well labeled so no chance of losing the trail.

We took the track on a story day and wind gusts were so strong they actually blew one of us off the track. The view from Kea Point is best when the weather is clear.

We only had a few hours, and did this walk as recommended by an employee at the Hermitage (between this or the Tasman Glacier walk). It did not disappoint! Stunning valley views, easy trail, beautiful wildflowers. There is a platform for photos and a few...More
