The entrance is free, the view is amazing, but basically only the walls and the towers surrounding the fortress are still standing. You won't find chambers or exhibitions to see... It is also a nice climb if you arrive on a day when the furnicular...More

The fortress stands tall at the heart of Deva, overlooking the city and the beautiful fields and forests around. There are some stairs to climb , but the view is worth it. Definitely a stop if you pass by Deva. Enjoy the view!

Worth a visit by foot or using the televabin. Make sure you have the audioguide or read about the history of the castle.

Although still in a state of semi-ruin ans with (IMHO) some questionable renovation / restoration work undertaken, the Deva Citadel is certainly a great place to hike up and soak up the views and a little history. Bear in mind that if you do walk...More

The Deva fortress lies on the top of the nearby hill. It was partiality destroyed by an explosion in the ammunition area in the mid 1800. The citadell was restored couple years ago. The restoration was poorly done, with poor quality materials. You could see...More
