Visited here by coach from our river cruise. It is very small but has a very interesting history especially with battles with the Spanish just over the border. It was an interesting place to walk round but found the verbal history more interesting. A lovely...More

I cannot better the previous review! It says it all. The church is very interesting and you have to try the fizzy marzipan cocktail.

We were transported to this very old village by coach from our river cruise and, as we found everywhere we went, the scenery along the way was lovely and often dramatic. The village is tiny, the eponymous castle is in ruins and there were few...More

Could not get too excited by my visit to what, essentially, is a virtually abandoned little medieval village. There might not be too many of these sites in Portugal but there are elsewhere. Interesting church and nice almonds in the tourist cafe at the entrance.

We had a great time visiting Castelo Rodrigo and having lunch here. The views are fantastic. Lunch was very good sitting outside in a patio with forever views. We enjoyed the castle ruins and walking around the village.

This is one of the twelve historical small towns in center Portugal, next to the Spanish boarder. It is a very interesting and quite well preserved town which is worth a detour. Enjoy!
