It’s a nice little hike about 10 minute drive from the main town. If you walk up to the ruins of the castle you will enjoy breath taking views of the valley below. A must do if you are driving up in Northern Portugal.
Formerly a bustling medieval town, Ansiães is now an abandoned and ruined walled town, with a castle at its highest point. The church is, unlike the rest of town, pristinely preserved and has a beautiful door. Truly a trip back to medieval times!
